Denny arrived on time and introduced us to the other passengers.
He explained the day s outline and off we went for a terrific educational gently paced tour of Auckland and surrounding areas.
Den was an experienced local and could answer all questions.
The winery tasting, lunch and afternoon ice cream were all first class .
A good day out.

Everything ran so smoothly and communication with the company before the tour was exceptional, making sure we were picked up at the most convenient location. The tour was conducted as 2, morning and afternoon, with 2 different tour guides ensuring we had the most knowledgeable guides for the different environments. - sharonStevenageStevenage250 contributionsMichelle our guide was a complete delight to be with as she expertly guided our small mini bus to see the history and highlights of Auckland. We were so impressed by the amount of sites we visited and there were plenty of opportunities for photos and a stop for coffee and a wee.
Because of the timely pick up from our hotel we really maximised our short visit and discovered so much of the historic Māori culture and even went to Devonport which was so just lovely we took the ferry back there again for dinner.
Michelle even helped us drop off at our next hotel further along Queen Street. This was 'Raw' Auckland. Our Tour Guide, Mike, picked us up at our hotel, there was just me and my lovely wife so we had 'Mike' all to ourselves. The day was very windy, at time cold, and some rain, so not the most comfortable but we managed. The tour IS a lot of walking, much uphill, as to be expected! (But of course downhill too!) Mike proved to be a very knowledgeable, not just on volcanoes, but upon the associated indigenous history of each place we visited, whether volcano or township we drove through. It was a long tiring day but we ended with side of Auckland we hard;y knew existed. Well worth the effort. - Coralie M D6 contributionsWe had a lovely day through the scenic sights of Auckland. Mike's cheerful disposition guided us through the magnificent views of Tamaki Drive, and Mission Bay. Other interesting sights included the Fernery at Domain Park and lunch at the Landing located at Riverhead.
Mike was jovial, entertaining and provided a lot of history to each of the memorable sights.

During the tour, we rode along the coastline of Devonport, then through neighborhoods and up to the peak of Mt. Victoria. Pauline shared the history and pointed out interesting things of the area around us as we went along. Once at the top of Mt. Victoria, we had ample time to enjoy the spectacular view, including the Auckland skyline, and to take photos.
