Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- travelwhileukanMarietta, GA73 contributionsGreat hike with expansive views at the summit. October 10, 2024. There was snow on the trail. 6 degrees Celsius at the trailhead that day. Walking poles and snow cleats were a huge help! Very blustery on parts of trail. A hat with a hood will keep you warm. Wear good boots. Leg gators or rain pants will keep snow off your feet /legs. 2.5 hours round trip for us.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tsullivanmd3Chantilly, VA15 contributionsAn excellent hike worthy of the effort required on a very difficult trail. The initial climb up Cory Pass is long and steep after which the pitch flattens some although still a ways to the summit. The trail is poorly marked so strongly advise access to online trail app to help stay on track. We did not have such and got off track; luckily connected with others who had such access and made a world of different.
There is a long hike along ridge line with superb views and several rock scrambles including a steep downward section. We are 68 and able to finish the loop although a bit slower than most.
Along with the suggestion to have access to a trail app I would also advise not doing in inclement weather as trail would be very slippery.Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We have very basic to no experience at all but this didn't matter as the horses are very well trained so that non experienced riders can enjoy this as well. Would do this again when visiting BanffWritten 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark JCalgary, Canada1 contributionThe elderly sleigh driver is unfriendly as I got unfair treatment. This made our adventure experience unenjoyable and uncomfortable. Overall, our money is not worth it.
Surprisingly, I got a full refund after a few days. I changed my review from 1 star to 4 stars because the owner took my formal complaint seriously, as it shows empathy and value to the guests. Hopefully, they will provide customer service training to their staff as they mainly work in the tourism industry.Written 24 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Once we arrived, they were completely organized, prompt, as well as professional and friendly.
We, literally, had the best day ever. Our kids were all very thrilled after the experience, going into it, not knowing what to expect. There were seven of us and it was worth every penny and the 3 hour drive from Calgary - after a five hour flight the day before.Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did the Marvin’s diner room with 4 people and it was a good amount of time for the difficulty level that it was. Next time we are in Banff we want to try the other escape room they have! Looking forward to it.Written 24 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lol2603East Sussex, UK64 contributionsReally well organised and safe. Great fun.
All equipment supplied plus free photos and refreshments at end. Friendly guides; we had Ugo and he even taught us how to move the raft if it got stuck in low water! Fun with other rafts too.
Chance to swim off raft at end.
Could not fault it.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joey W5 contributionsA cant-miss experience in the Banff area and a highlight of our trip! We had the best guide, Matt, who made our experience great. He was calm, encouraging, and made a great coach! His optimism and attitude toward life will stick with me long past this excursion.
Highly recommend Mt Norquay Via Ferrata and especially Matt!Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stunning views, peaceful hike surrounded by 360 degrees of Rockies. Brian was extremely well prepared, patient, knowledgable and brought everything we needed for an amazing day (excellent equipment, hot chocolate and cookies for our island picnic. Highly recommend this company, and Brian in particular for a guide!Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - quilla1972Calgary, Canada2 contributionsI am so happy Banff Canyoning popped into my FB feed. My 13 year old daughter and I did the family friendly Cline River experience this weekend and absolutely loved it! Olivia was an incredible guide. Thorough, patient, kind, and made everyone feel really comfortable. Nothing was a rush, take your time, super chill. Always smiling.
We highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for a mini adventure!
Also recommend using the pick up spot, David Thompson Resort as your HQ.
It was so convenient to just walk to the parking lot to meet up for the days outing.Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michel CCheticamp, Canada201 contributionsBooked this trip to celebrate my 50th birthday and do something out of the box with my son. I'm going to need a thesaurus to describe how extraordinary this trip was. From the moment we were greeted at the bus transfer by the very friendly staff I knew this was going to be a great trip. It had it all, adventure, amazing memories, luxury, and fun! Lodge was wonderful, rooms luxurious, great food, tons of activities in the lodge (basketball, pool, Foosball, games), but the real draw is the spectacular hiking. Your taxi (helicopter) whisks you and other adventurers to unbelievable mountain drop offs as you either hike or climb. The guides (we had Tom and Simon) make safety a priority and push your limits to achieve amazing heights, literally. You can have nice gentle hikes or if more brave tackle the via ferratas. From the moment we arrived the staff knew our names and went above and beyond to make our trip special. If you are even considering CMH then don't delay, book it now! Not many vacations have you coming home feeling like you have changed your life!Written 6 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Beautiful trails and breathtaking scenery!Written 5 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - TobyC123Newcastle, Australia9 contributionsWe had an amazing 11 days skiing with Fresh Adventures. We had a private group of 9 friends. Our guides Mac (Malcom) and Etienne were fantastic. I did almost exactly the same trip last year for a friends 50th boys trip ski holiday, and wanted to repeat it for my 50th - which I did this year. The organisation of the trip was seamless. The accomodation was excellent (except for the Sandman in Revelstoke which I'm led to believe will be changed for future trips). It is so good to ski in resorts with experienced skiers that know the resorts so you don't waste lots of time working out where is the best place to ski in whichever conditions. It is also really nice not to have to think about accomodation logistics, or dinner options (as the guides gave excellent recommendations every night and we were never disappointed). And it is really nice not to have to drive! Overall we had a wonderful time. I think it is great value for money and I would do it again in a heartbeat (although maybe not next year as I've had 2 boys trips now in 2yrs and the family is very reluctant to let me make this a habit!).Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
