What travellers are saying
- Michele G-WLondon, Canada427 contributionsThe Parkway was right behind where we were staying in Banff. We didn't bike it but did drive it and it's beautiful. If you go around 7:30/8pm you'll see wildlife. We saw Elk and Black Bear.Written 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JFLeBlancMoncton, Canada3,315 contributionsRecently visited this location which is the birth place of Parks Canada. The cave itself is way smaller than I thought but still very cool to see.
Staff members were professional and helpful.
I highly recommend.Written 6 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Michele G-WLondon, Canada427 contributionsBanff Ave has something for everyone. There are all types of shops (clothing, chocolate, soaps) and restaurants for even the picky eaters!
It does get very busy so I recommend going early. This will also allow you to find close parking. Parking is paid or free at the Train Station.
Great place to people watchWritten 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Sharon RTucson, Arizona227 contributionsA fun place to drive with mountain and river views. There is a viewing platform which gives a fantastic view of the hotel.Written 18 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sharon RTucson, Arizona227 contributionsThe family own the site and there are amazing artifacts. The guide had tons of interesting facts. Loved the bead work and some of the history.Written 18 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- leslie D2 contributionsThe staff was excellent, our rooms were comfortable. I enjoyed the atmosphere, watching elk graze a marmots sing in the morning :)Written 5 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Darlene ABallston Spa, NY124 contributionsWe happened upon the gardens and took a break from the rushing around of touring and enjoyed the grounds with all the flowers, ponds, and beautiful landscaping. These gardens are very tranquil and well planned. We were amazed at the beautiful variety of flowers and that they were mostly all in bloom given that we were there in September which seems late in the flowering season for us from the Eastern part of the US. If horticulture is in your interest, this is a must see.Written 13 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- beth ann kHalstead, KS1,492 contributionsWe went to church on a Saturday evening, and appreciate the mass being later. It was a nice service, and is a pretty building.Written 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Safi and Fariaa AdventuresOttawa, Canada760 contributionsThis is a very nice church right on Banff Avenue, next to the Banff Visitor Centre. Unfortunately it was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But it does make for a nice place for photos.Written 23 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Naina-DamaniLondon, UK1,032 contributionsLittle Beehive is surrounded by beautiful alpine forest. Absolutely crystal clear water with stunning views.Written 3 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ScubaNut099Edmonton, Canada203 contributionsThe Cosmic Ray station is nothing more than a tiny 3m x 3m boarded up shack at the top of the Sulphur mountain view point. The BIG ATTRACTION here is actually the view of the surrounding mountains/valley/town below.
I would give the old station 2 out of 5 stars and the view from there, 10 out of 5 stars!!
If you are able bodied then the walk from the gondola to this viewpoint is extremely easy. Even for elderly - it should not pose too much difficulty as long as they can go up and down stairs.
There are MANY stairs going both up and down along the route with quick a number of places to stop and view the mountain.Written 24 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BenLar137Calgary, Canada14,059 contributionsTucked away in the lower floor of Glyde Hall is this great place that exhibits amazing contemporary art. The halls are very spacious with great lighting, and they get fascinating shows in. We were at the Banff Centre to take in the Mountain Film Festival, and popped in to see was on offer. Staff were helpful and friendly, and very campy exhibit really complemented the films at the festival.Written 18 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
