What travellers are saying
- JackOld Bethpage, NY846 contributionsPlaya Norte is stunning. Palm trees line the coast with perfect white sand and crystal clear, warm turquoise waters. I highly recommend stopping at the beach here if you are in Isla Mujeres because it will be one of the best beaches you have ever been too.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin CIthaca, NY4 contributionsA perfect place to see the sunrise while as Isla Mujeres. This is a beautiful place and one not to miss in this area. Wife and I came to watch the sunrise and then walked through the park's sculptures. The views are amazing!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mary Lois M5 contributionsWhat a wonderful place to visit and buy some souvenirs made locally, supporting local talent. The work is lovely and they even made a custom bracelet for me. Definitely a place to check out on your shopping adventures.Written 22 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike R4 contributionsPretty good door and drinks, terrific view of the ocean. Good island vibe. Small beach but was all we needed. - Roxzanne ThewandererKansas City, MO199 contributionsThe free beach near the central area is great- I definitely recommend it, however, be careful.
My friends were in the water and I had come up later. I noticed two guys who didn't look like they were dressed for the beach carrying two empty backpacks. Did I have confirmation that the backpacks were totally empty? No, obviously- but they didn't have any towels, no bulges in the backpacks, no bottles of water, nothing- nothing you would normally bring to a beach, wear to a beach, or pull out while at the beach.
They just stood there canvassing the area, so I went and sat by my friends stuff and just stared at them; I've traveled extensively and you can tell when people don't belong or are pretty obviously there for other reasons.
After a bit they left - but they literally just stood in the same spot not moving, canvassing, then gave up. I'm not exaggerating when I say that you could tell that these two individuals weren't there to swim.
Great place to be, I DEFINITELY recommend going and didn't feel unsafe at all, but like ALL places when traveling, please be aware of your surroundings and keep a close eye on your belongings. Tourists are an easy target.Written 22 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was some current as others have mentioned, but nothing too bad. LOTS of fish and surprisingly quite a bit of coral. Definitely worth a trip if you have the time and like snorkeling.Written 4 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dcikon2Lenexa, KS3,596 contributionsI enjoy the Malecon while hunting for sea glass early in the morning. The breeze from the Caribbean is refreshing. The Malecon is also safe.Written 18 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TeeleahAbbeville, LA112 contributionsWe attended Sunday mass at 10 am. The church is not air-conditioned which is typical for the Mexican churches we have attended. The mass was in Spanish but we were able to follow the mass and did our responses in English along with half the congregation there. Bring a fan with you during the warmer season and you don't need to wear a jacket.Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hailey FBoston, MA11 contributionsSeriously the best massage of my life. My husband and I went for a 30-min massage while we waited for our fish at the restaurant and then we went back two days later for an hour each! It was that good. Christian and Alex are incredible, so friendly, and incredibly talented massage therapists. They start around 11am. Do not miss this!Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- akchickakchick64 contributionsWe had the pleasure of being a part of our dear local friends' wedding here. The church was beautiful, and the Padre and all the helpers were so friendly and welcoming. It was a beautiful experience!Written 23 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jennifer WAtlanta, GA61 contributionsThey were improving it when we were there. However, we snuck in took peaks and it really is beautiful and serene. Great for pictures! The islands has lots of flora and fauna that does not fear humans and a place like this where it is protected is a great place to see it.Written 11 May 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
