- Michel WDavidsonville, MD402 contributionsWe took the tour at 12.30 on a cloudy and choppy day. We were a bit confused where to wait, it’s at the end of the dock straight from the entrance to the waterfront by the little supermarket/restaurant. Our guides were Jemma and Marianne and captain Cesar. The boat is small (no bathroom) seats about 10-12 people, but it’s rather fast and gets close to the whales. We had a great time. We saw about 10 whales got quite close to them, saw them rolling over, coming up, diving and so on. Our guides were very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. The trip took about 4 hours, including a half hour of lecture on land. A sandwich is served around 3pm (Turkey, you can request vegetarian), so it may be good to eat a small bite before you leave. Our tequila tasting guide, Kevin, was so funny and knowledgeable. Would definitely do it again! There were about 30 people total in our group, and the team worked together to keep everything moving. I would definitely recommend this company. Along the trail, he took the time to share fascinating insights into the rich history of Mexico, weaving captivating stories that brought the country’s past to life. His explanations were detailed yet easy to follow, making the experience both educational and engaging for everyone in our group.
In addition to the historical context, Hanna also provided clear and insightful explanations of various natural phenomena we encountered along the way. From the unique flora and fauna to the geological features of the landscape, he ensured we left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world around us.
Hanna’s passion for his work and his ability to connect with people made the tour truly exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a guide who goes above and beyond to create a memorable and enriching experience.

- CAS31 contributionsMy husband and I did this experience on New Years Day. We met at the meeting point and took an air conditioned van to our destination. Once there, we went through a small area with vendors, and were then offered a refreshing punch while we were waiting on one of our guests. The guide recommended that we wear bandanas because of the dust, and they were on sale for $2.50 USD. Most of our tour group bought one. We then went to review the rules for being on the horse, one of the gentlemen chose a horse for each person, and we were off. They ask about your experience level, and then match you with a horse based on your ability. There were a few people with his who had never ridden horses before, as well as someone who had been riding since she was a child, so no worries if you have no experience. Before leaving, the guide offered us a local drink of goat milk, chocolate, and alcohol which was surprisingly delicious.
We had a nice, long ride on the horses up to do our tequila tasting and have lunch. Although the guides are riding in the front and back of the group, you are controlling your own horse the whole time. We rode mostly on land, but the horses also walked through the river. At the 2nd river, we all had a chance for the horse to go deeper into the river one on one which was amazing.
We did a tequila tasting with a chance to buy some bottles, and then we went on to eat a delicious lunch, but first we got to make our own salsa with what I believe was a molcajete. Here we got unlimited margaritas, before getting back on our horses for a short ride back to the ranch.

We were unlucky in that the ocean had been pretty choppy, which the guides promptly told us about the morning of and offered to reschedule. We decided to stay with the day we had, which still worked out great. We met up with our guides at the bar and got a free drink, afterwards they guided us to the dock to wait for our boat. Our guide was very good at keeping everyone excited for the swim and encouraged everyone to have a good time. The swim itself was very beautiful, the water and bubbles around you sparkle and shimmer. Using the snorkelling goggles they provided made it even easier to see, so I highly recommend taking them up on that offer. Overall it was a great experience.
I would advise bringing a closed waterproof bag to store your items while you’re in the water, when everyone comes back into the boat they bring a lot of water and it gets splashed around. This way you can keep your change of clothes dry.
