Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- MarceloSao Paulo, SP85 contributionsIn the past was not that crowded as it is today, but is much more developed and with better infrastructure for tourism. Excellent for a walk at the end of the day or early in the morning. Considering friends? Choose one of the quiosques and let the conversation flow.Written 14 February 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Flavia BNiteroi, RJ11 contributionsThe beach is very good and beautiful! The sea is blue, and is good to stay on the sand admiring the sea. Sometimes you can see turtles in the water. The restaurants near the beach are good too - I specially recommend Picanha da Praia restaurant.Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Curt WLynchburg, VA221 contributionsThis beach and area is kinda off the beaten path ...it's a secure little village with a very nice clean beach. Parking can be tricky i season otherwise its a great placeWritten 27 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AritznetoMacae, RJ35 contributionsBeautiful beach kind of exclusive due to difficulty to reach the place, it is not served by roads requires a long walk along the beachWritten 20 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Curt WLynchburg, VA221 contributionsThis is a nice small beach but be very careful about getting to it as its dirt roads through the middle of nowhere...My wife was feeling really uneasy about the trek..but again a nice little secluded beachWritten 3 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oanavladOVCluj-Napoca, Romania93 contributionsOur stop at Rio das Ostras took 3 days. It is an incredible place if you are looking for relaxation, silence and more private beaches. The beach is very long, we had amazing evening walks during the evening. There's a turtles place where you can spot them while they're swimming in the sea. Lots of SUP people and fans. Good waves for surfing and amazing feel overall. Didn't feel dangerous for one second; it was relaxing and extremely beautiful.Written 17 September 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Curt WLynchburg, VA221 contributionsThis is another place in Rio das Ostras that has been somewhat abandoned that could be an excellent place..they have a nice amphitheatre that is rarely used which if I was an official of the city I would have something going on every weekend there....as in most places the qiosques are run down and dirty...the same goes for the the water in the Lagoa...I guess thats why they call it Coca Cola Lagoon...the water is black...and I wouldnt ever step foot in it...who knows what could be lurking below !!! The tower though is a great attraction if you are a photo buff....sunrise and sunset pics can be awesome...just be prepared to walk up quite a few stairs!!!Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gabriel CMacae, RJ50 contributionsThe whale and the scuba diving man are a really nice statue and makes this square a nice place to go and take some pictures.Written 5 November 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Curt WLynchburg, VA221 contributionsThis beach is kinda out of the way but is worth the visit. Small cove with beautiful views and ordinarily isn't to awfully crowded even in season.Written 3 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
