Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Brendan SArlington, VA1,688 contributionsI was not expecting a lot at the art museum for a small Caribbean nation that has only been independent for 50 years. But the colorful pieces here certainly evoke a Bahaman style. Most of the art has a victim and oppression theme, which is also fitting for a country that is both entirely dependent on yet loathes the tourists and the national subservience to tourist interests. While the Museum itself isn’t that big, they fill the walls with the art, though photos aren’t allowed. There is also a sculpture garden, but there are only a few, very abstract pieces here. It’s a one hour museum on the whole.Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kathleen D1 contributionI took a landscape print class with Shanise and had a blast. She was a great instructor and helped me make some lovely keepsake prints that I will enjoy as a memory of my time in the Bahamas. Her class gave me just the right amount of instruction and freedom to be creative. I plan on signing up for more classes at the Current because they offered such quality instruction and a unique experience for part of my trip. It was a lovely offering for when I didn’t want to be out on a boat or in the water for a few hours! Many thanks to them!Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- canucksunloverCaledon, Canada272 contributionsA great spot for spending some time having an ice cream, doing some shopping, and checking out all the beautiful yachts docked at the marina! - Kelly VCharlton, NY320 contributionsThis was great for a rainy day, as it is all inside- the Straw Market is a nice thing to do, if you’re going downtown shopping- many of the locals make handmade items, however much of it is made in China as well.Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lynnscotDeal, UK54 contributionsWe were introduced to hillside house gallery and bar by the Bahamas food tour and could not wait to come back.
Relaxed vibe, great food. Wonderful chat at the bar with Chris at the end of the evening.

Beautiful, locally made paintings, wood carved bowls and arts and crafts. Make sure you chat with the staff working there, who have amazing backstories about the art and crafts they sell.Written 22 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wayne WLargo, FL1 contributionOur first interaction with Kay’s was very pleasant. The staff at the Nassau store were exceptional. Even though they were sales people we left there as if we had known them for a long time. They were successful at selling us a fair amount of the products they offered!!
After returning home my wife realized the ring she bought didn’t fit well. We contacted Jay back in Nassau and he made every arrangement to get it returned, resized and delivered back to her. She was apprehensive about parting company with the beautiful ring but Jay convinced her everything would be taken care of and he was true to his word.
We would recommend Kay’s Fine Jewelry to anyone. They have quality products and exceptional staff . Jay is a professional, trustworthy manager who works very hard to ensure his customers are satisfied and treated the way they should be.
The next time we visit any of their ports of call I know visiting their store will be a must do for us.

- Leslie WRockport, MA1 contributionAn unexpected pleasure. Small gallery of exquisitely curated pieces, produced a powerful exhibit. Highly recommend a 15-30 minute stop here.Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JEP01Cambridge173 contributionsA pleasant stop and easy walking distance from the Graycliff. There's not a great deal to see but it's an attractive building, and the cocktails and conch fritters are delicious.Written 21 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CAM16 contributionsThis family run jewelry shop is truly a Bahamas shopping must! Located in a historical building downtown and specializing in authentic Shipwreck Coins, pick up a piece of eight you can hang around your neck! The ladies at Coin of the Realm only sell coins that come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Karen helped us pick from at least 50 shipwreck coins and gave us the background and pricing explanations of each coin that we expressed interest in. After years of wanting a shipwreck coin, I finally came home with the ultimate Spanish treasure coin. When it comes to buying artifacts, it’s hard to find shops that you can trust. I couldn’t be more pleased and it was a wonderfully enriching experience. I wasn’t on a cruise ship, but if I was, coming back on board with Spanish treasure would make you the envy of the ship. Find your own piece of treasure down the side streets of Nassau at Coin of the Realm.Written 29 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If the don't have what you are looking for and they no someone who does they will walk you over to that person's space. They were very respectful and friendly even when you don't buy.Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anita MNassau, New Providence Island287 contributionsOne of the best things about PopOp is that artists rent studio space and even live there in the main building. Whenever there is a special exhibit (as opposed to the artwork that normally adorns the walls), the artists are there to talk with you and explain their works, which are usually very creative and avant garde. John Cox, the owner/artist/ curator of BahaMar, is not often on property because of the work he's doing for BahaMar (soliciting and coordinating all the artwork for this massive new Cable Beach megaresort, where all the art in every room of every building will have been done by a Bahamian artist). This is not surprising, because The Bahamas seems to grow artists! (COB is doing a great job in this field.) However, if you are lucky, you may see Kendal Hanna, a living legend abstract expressionist par excellence, who lives in one of the out-buildings on the PopOp property. By the way, some of the artworks are outdoor installations, so be sure to look around.Written 28 March 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
