Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- BarbagrigiaColorado238 contributionsSandy Island was hard hit by Hurricane Beryl on July 1, 2024. In November 2024 I was able to revisit the island, primarily to check out the snorkeling, but also to be joyfully off the grid for a few hours. The vegetation from the middle of the island to the west tip is pretty much gone, but the eastern half still offers some shade. I am happy to report that the snorkeling off the east tip of the island is still very good.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AshBerDoveUnited Kingdom39 contributionsWe went on a day trip to Carriacou by ferry from St George’s and stopped at Paradise Beach. It is paradise indeed and the best beach in the three-state country. It is located in a bay just a few minutes away from the ferry terminal by bus (bus No 10) and about 30 minutes on foot. It is not crowded, has fine white sand and the water is as turquoise as it can be.
Paradise Island is in view from the beach.
Paradise Beach Bar is the perfect complement to the beach!Written 5 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Shore is lined with eateries & shops. Lovely big grocery store called Alexis for provisioning. Next door is a laundry, where the lady will take care of all your needs. Most eateries offer free Wi-Fi . The island is a MUST STOP for all cruisersWritten 6 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dad N12 contributionsChef did an amazing job. Was our first visit. Sailed in with 5 hungry student sailors. Meal and drinks were amazing. Between Lobster mahi-mahi jerk chicken and so much more the meal was the best meal we had during our entire 7 Days in the Caribbean highly recommended the beach for the dinghy ride in is a little challenging so be prepared to get wet but it's well worth itWritten 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada81,632 contributionsWhen I came into the Carriacou Museum with my camera, I was told I should not be able to take pictures.
Oh well, I may forget some of them, but that's OK. The cost was 10EC$.
What I didn't forgot is that this place was the oldest cotton gin in the world.
There were interesting carib artifacts of African heritage.
I hope next time I will be able to take pictures.
Otherwise it is worthwhile!Written 10 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was super beautiful, lots of wildlife, and the shipwreck is crazy. Loved going to this place, went for a second time to show my family. Highly reccomend!!!Written 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gene R JSilver Spring, MD11,222 contributionsWe walked 1.4 km uphill from our stay at Grandview Hotel to the Princess Royal Hospital and just below to this Belair Windmill. Its detailed information board stated it was built in the 1770's by slaves,
then used by them to grind corn until the 19th C. It also mentioned another mill ruins farther on. So we continued 1.6 km passing Top Hill's Senior Center and the Margaret-Mary Catholic Church to find the 2nd windmill ruins that powered the colonial sugar works. It was guarded by barking dogs from the private house next door. Its prominent location had spectacular views of the airport and Hillsborough below. We returned taking the same route which provided extended shoreline views of the windward side of this island. Great exercise with a bit of history on our 4 mile Sunday morning walk.Written 16 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria C1 contributionAfter a lovely snorkelling trip to the fascinating underwater sculpture park and nearby reef, I decided to take the plunge and do a refresher dive. I told Gary that I’d lost confidence after a long break, and he was so reassuring. We went on a shallow dive, which was just what I needed to refresh my skills and get my confidence back. I highly recommend Deefer Diving when you’re visiting Carriacou. Lots of fish - we saw a young nurse shark, rays, lobsters, barracuda and so many beautifully coloured fish. It was wonderful. Thanks to the whole team at Deefer Diving. Until next time!Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Diane and her team are competent and passionate professionals. They have created a warm and safe atmosphere for all divers, from beginners to experts. The dive sites were magnificent, full of colorful and diverse marine life. - Michael L7 contributionsMy wife, elderly aunt, and I had a private excursion this past Sunday. We found the crew (Andre and Dean) to be very personable, charming and open to questions. We had enjoyable conversations and many moments of laughter as we sailed to 2 different points for swimming and snorkeling. The vessel was clean and I felt very safe on our journey. Both young men were very helpful and gentle in helping my 88 year old aunt on and off board. Something I really am thankful for. The Rum punch was delicious. The noodles and chicken were tasty. I would recommend grilled fish as a 2nd option for guests. My auntie had a carib beer, which is always delightful in the heat. The four hours went by pretty fast—a sure indication that we were having fun.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Journey299954033121 contributionI enjoyed kite lessons with Julie & Patto, systematically they helped me progress and gain confidence. They are both dedicated and knowledgeable. The spot is secluded, sandy, somewhat shallow. Carriacou is a gem, we had a memorable time.Written 3 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
