Beautiful beaches! You can walk for hours and enjoy the surroundings - the ocean, waves, birds, sands, sun, happy people, palms, climate. In a particular moment you can start thinking you are in the Heaven!

Beautiful island, the water on the way there is the bluest water I have ever seen. Spent 3 hours on the beach hunting for rocks and shells. (The ocean washes a ton up every wave) so standing in the water you are kind of pelted a bit, but worth the visit.

Here's how to do it yourself without a tour. Get a local taxi/bus/guagua on the roadside from wherever you are and just ask them to stop at the Damajagua. It's a 200m walk down the drive from the main road. The place is well organised, ticket booth with prices displayed, lockers, guides on site, cafe.
500 peso per person at the desk in 2024. This was for the 7 waterfalls due to lack of water. It seems quite rare for the whole thing to be open. That includes mandatory lifejacket, helmet and guide. Cash only. Lockers are around 200 peso depending on size. On a December weekday afternoon it was very quiet, but looking at the size of the car park it must be horrible when it's busy with buses.
Some of the reviews on here are ridiculous, so here we go with our version.
Guide spoke good English and Spanish.
The walk up is 40 mins on a rocky uphill path. It's comparable to an easy walk in a UK national park. Recommend hiking sandles or tennis shoes, but could do it in water shoes if you wanted.
The stairs and ladders are rickety but pretty safe.
The slides and jumps into the water are a bit bumpy but very safe (you're sliding over rocks, it's not a water park!) Recommend a T shirt to protect from a few scrapes. Walk out is 10 mins downhill.
Overall, very enjoyable, a little short but hey they can't make more waterfalls. Would have been happy to go round again for another 500.

This place was exceptional, from the clean and well-maintained grounds to the incredibly friendly staff. A big shoutout to our "Uncle Coke-a-Cola" from your British family 😊—he truly made our visit extra special! The animals are well cared for, and it’s clear that the staff genuinely love them. The shows were both fun and educational, and the animal interactions were once-in-a-lifetime experiences. It was amazing to share these moments with my family. While the dolphin interaction could have been a bit longer (who doesn’t want more time hugging a dolphin?), it was still unforgettable. Overall, it was a fantastic day, and we could have easily spent more time there if we had the chance. If we ever return, we will definitely come back!

Even on a rainy day it was a great experience. We always take family or friends there when we go to santo domingo. A must do at least once.

Great trip. We arrived at approximately 2 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the building. After paying the admission fee, we made our way towards the line to get onto the cable car. The ride on the cable car lasted roughly 10 minutes and the views were absolutely spectacular. We were surrounded by the lush forests beneath us. Once we reached the top, we started to explore the park. The park was quite beautiful and consisted of a paved walking trail that took us for a loop around the park. We stopped at several places alongside the loop, in order to view the statue of Christ, the cave, an old cabin, and walk the bridge. There were informational plaques in front of several of the attractions, that detailed what we were seeing in front of us. We were surrounded by trees and nature as we walked the trails.

Tip: I recommend spending 2 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

We did this excursion through our cruise ship. We had a great time! Other reviews had me nervous that it wouldn’t be a great day, but it was a perfect day! Ferries picked us up in port and shuttled us to the dock at Catalina Island. The staff were waiting for us and quickly got our chairs and umbrellas set up for us. Facilities were good. There is a nature trail with signage showing what animals inhabit the island. The beach is beautiful and clean. There wasn’t food available, but we knew that before we came and packed accordingly. We would definitely do this again!

Good place for a late afternoon stroll or evening dinner. Restaurant buche Perico is recommended in the evening. Catedral museum is worth a short visit.

If on a cruise leave the port and search out an excursion. Much cheaper than those offered thru the cruise line. We found Amber Cove to be beautiful and clean. We left the Cove for a tour to Puerta Plata. So enjoyed the tour and our tour guide Pablo. Good time

I really liked Sosua Beach. The water was gorgeously blue, and the scenery was breathtaking. When it comes to hotels, there is a lot to choose from ranging from some that are pretty close to the beach to some that are a little farther away. As for the restaurants along the beach, they didn’t seem to offer much vegetarian options, and I rarely saw running water or stoves. I would recommend walking around the city and eating at one of those restaurants even if they might be a little further away from the beach. There were many gift shops, and there seemed to be a lot of activities to do such as diving and boat rentals. Overall, Sosua was a pretty nice beach for a nice vacation.
