Aquariums
The Curaçao Sea Aquarium belongs to one of the most unique aquaria in the world. The reason being that, from the very beginning of the aquarium in 1984, the Sea Aquarium managed to create natural habitats for all its marine creatures without using sophisticated technical equipment. Due to an open-watersystem all the aquaria are in immediate contact with the open sea. It is this advanced pump system that continuously pumps fresh seawater directly in all the aquaria. Openings in the roof allow natural sunlight to fall directly on the aquaria, so there is no need to use artificial light sources. The combination of the open-watersystem and the natural sunlight create the natural circumstances that are needed to replicate the underwater world outside the aquarium. Everything in the aquaria, from the fish and corals to the sand on the bottom of the exhibition tanks, originates from the seas surrounding the island of Curaçao. Nothing in the displays is artificial, everything is 100% real. The same conditions apply to the lagoons in which the dolphins, sealions, sharks, rays and turtles are kept. The only thing that separates these lagoons from the open ocean are breakwaters built out of big rock boulders and an occasional fence, allowing fresh seawater to freely flow through all the lagoons. The Curaçao Sea Aquarium operates according to the principle that all animals need to be kept in circumstances that as much as possible mimic their natural living conditions. This goal is accomplished by employing all the available natural sources and resources surrounding the aquarium.

I must do while you’re in Curaçao, walk across the floating pontoon Bridge, and make sure you go night so you can admire the lights.

Went to learn about the local history around the slave trade. The museum was not as much about the local history as it is about the general slave trade history. Also large sections about African culture and art. Some amazing artifacts that are sadly deteriorating in the challenging climate control of this small museum.

Unfortunately did not allow enough time (60 minutes) to read and look at all the exhibits. Spent too much time on the non-slave related areas (guide map has next to no info and the staff did not provide any advice or ask if we wanted any).

Well worth a visit, recommend you go straight to the back left area with the slave trade exhibits.

The tour was about 45 minutes, it was a fun activity but the cave was not to big. The tour guide was very nice and did a great job telling us about the cave and the history of the island. Definitely a fun activity to do if you are looking for something different than the beach.

Our tour guide Ingo was knowledgeable and fun! We loved learning about Blue Curacao and the other Curacao Liqueurs. The tasting was great and we all had a hard time choosing our cocktail after because there were so many delicious sounding choices on the menu. We all enjoyed relaxing and sipping our cocktail at the end of the tour.

We had seen this bridge from our ship and didn't realise our tour took us over it.
I believe it is the highest bridge in the Caribbean
certainly quite breath-taking as you climb up to go over it

Really Cool spot with a lot of good food and shops . but the cruise ships ruin it during the day. Just packed with people clogging everything up and not really doing anything. Just wasting the day and being in the way. Come after 3-4 pm for the best experience. Also note most things here can be purchased cheaper in punda just across the queen emma bridge less than a 10 minute walk .

Curacao's Otrobanda district lies along the waterfront. It's characterized by it's colorful buildings. There are several historic forts and buildings, and many shops and restaurants. This area is a great place of art lovers. There is art everywhere, include statues and sculptures and the walls of the buildings are covered in beautiful, colorful murals.
