Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Completed the instructor traineeship with Aotearoa Surf in Dec 2023/Jan 2024 and had an awesome time! The crew is truly amazing - taught me so much about instructing and made me feel right at home from the start. And as promised, I'm leaving with the ISA level 1 done - and loads of memories. Gonna miss this place, thanks again!

Had a fantastic day’s fishing at the Mokes on RnR. From booking the trip with Steph, to being on board with Wayne, it was a fantastic experience. Wayne is an awesome skipper with decades of knowledge who put us on the fish at every spot we tried. The boat is so comfortable, with plenty of space to fish and shelter to get out of the sun. Would highly recommend!

Mike was really friendly and helpful. We had a pleasant day out and would highly recommend them.
The boat, rods and tackle was supplied by Mike and made the fishing trip a huge success

Instructor (Sam) was patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. Directions were easy to follow, all equipment was provided, and most of all it was all sorts of crazy fun! Only two hours and I'm getting older, so I count standing up at the end a win, but others in my group looked a lot more comfortable at the end. Would recommend and would definitely do again.

We chose to walk to the first waterfall and return via the newer track - Botanical track. There are several combinations that are possible. This area of tracks are on the south side of Brynderwyn Hills and are popular walks in the North Island. The tracks are all loops and offer a variety of walks- along ridges, through forest, over streams etc. By combining the walks we chose it was about 2- 3 hrs the extra time was because it was very muddy and slippery so slower pace required.
You join the Botanical track just above the first waterfall. It is well signposted where this junction occurs.
Be aware that it can be very muddy and slippery after rain and the small streams to cross can be tricky as the rocks are very slippery.
Lovely little grotto at first waterfall- loads of rest benches on the walk to here.
Hiking boots a must as even with high quality boots I still slipped in places.
Would like more signage on the Botanical track to name the species etc- only 5 or 6 toward the end.

Great day out, great skipper with a heap of knowledge. Although we took our own gear Tony let us use his so we could try out different techniques. Would definitely recomend.
