Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- lowryeppEpping, UK938 contributionsBig family holiday. Most of 5 days on the beach. Not fine sand, bit grittier - ideal for sand castles, games etc. Several toilets, food places etc. Dogs allowed sections one groyne away from pier. Do need to watch the tides!.
Only tiny moan, no taps to wash off salt & sand at the end of the dayWritten 31 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - NearRadwellRadwell220 contributionsGreat visit to the Naze Tower. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great views from the top. We arrived at 10am and had the Tower to ourselves!
The climb to the top is via a set of open cast iron spiral staircases. You need to be moderately fit and not scared of heights. Each floor of the Tower has displays about the history of the tower or art/pottery for sale.
Next to the Tower are several cafes and an Essex & Middlesex Wildlife Centre (free and with good toilets). Access to the beach is a few steps away.
Great location to spend a few hours visiting everything that is on offer.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. With an interactive display and gift shop, the kids will love it.Written 29 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debbi DIlfracombe, UK5 contributionsManaged to kill a few hours. All a bit dated and in need of some modernisation.
The kids had fun and that's what counts. The food was alright. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2p machines. There was plenty of them well stocked with prizes.Written 2 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The North Pole Hotel was hard but not too hard and we’ll definitely try another room another time.Written 9 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mimo22 contributionsThe pool itself is nice, staff however are not very nice (except the manager) Receptionist (small/dark haired older lady) is a rude judgemental jobsworth - she argued with my son’s carers that 2 carers couldn’t be let in for free (which is absolutely fine, but website does not state this anywhere, and they were there 2x a week prior to this with no problem?!) it took a member of the public to come over & stick up for my son. We have no problem paying for carers but you need to make it clearer! Manager sorted it & apologised - but to be honest, all the staff are miserable & rude. My son & his carers won’t be going again. We will stick to other pools, where we they are treated better.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you get a chance pay her a visit - you won’t want to leave! If you cannot visit she offers a great online ordering service which I will definitely be taking advantage of once I am home!Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
