Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great time with Daniel our English speaking host. As others have mentioned, it’s a full day if you do the tour with pick up and drop off. We were picked up promptly at 9:30 am and by the time we picked up the rest of our group and drove the 30-40 minutes to the estate, it was 10:30. Started with touring the facilities for about an hour and learning about the varietals they grow and the trellising system/ wine making techniques they use, then had an hour of a seated tasting of 4 wines with snacks to compliment the wine which was an educational experience as Daniel led us through how to look/ smell and taste the wine. Lunch was a 3 course affair with wine pairings and then our pick up was at 3pm to head back and we were all wiped! It was really refreshing to try tannat made in different formats including carbonic maceration and aged in American vs French oak as it made them much more palatable than the other tannats that I have tried so far which have been massive and overwhelming. Their whites were also well made and refreshing. If you are looking for an enjoyable wine tasting experience in English, I recommend Pizzorno

We went on the tour and had a light lunch. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the delicious wine and food. I.would recommend this tour if you are in the area.

Great tasting about an hour from Montevideo. The highest level tasting provided quality wine with meat/cheese plate. We got to taste a sparkling, Chardonnay/Albariño blend and three reds. Staff helpful in English due to my poor Spanish.

What a charming and delightful afternoon we had here! We made the reservation for lunch from a recommendation from the Guruguay book. We had no idea that lunch came with FIVE glasses of wine - and these were healthy pours! The winemaker is very friendly and passionate about his craft, knowledgeable and happy to answer all questions. The meal was simple but delicious, served on a beautiful setting outside in the shade. The service was attentive and the price very reasonable. I’d love to go back!!

Found this hotel online, and enchanted by its history. The rooms are definitely shabby chic, as another reviewer described, but in a good way. Staff was super friendly, especially Jose the manager. Couldn’t have been more helpful on our arrival. The little restaurant is deceiving, as you don’t expect it to serve such delicious found. One of the best dinners we had on our trip, and the breakfast buffet was equally as good. Short walk down the hill to one of the longest and widest beaches I’ve ever seen. If you’re looking for laidback comfort, this is the place for you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this family owned and operated winery and vineyard. And, the wines here are delicious. We only wish that they were available in Canada. This was definitely the highlite of our visit to Uruguay.

Superb wine tasting with Manuel and his family. They were kind enough to do it for me alone and was a truly fantastic evening. The wine and viticultural exploration was incredible but perhaps even more so was the warm welcome given by him and his family. What started as a wine tasting ending up being a discussion long into the evening about wine, Uruguay, history and the state of the World in general! I could have stayed all night (and wasn’t far off!) but eventually left them in peace. A unique and wonderful experience hosted by a truly warm and welcoming Uruguayan family. Gracias

We drove into the farmyard on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by the owner. Without hesitation he showed us around his winefarm and also offered us a mini wine tasting allthough they were not open. The quality of the wine is of a high standard and the winery is worth a visit.
