We decided to stay in the Tremiti Islands after watching Gino D'Acampo's TV programme, where he illustrated the local cuisine. We took the Tirrenia ferry from Termoli, which docked at Isole San Nicola, before gettting a very cheap smaller boat across to the neighbouring Isole San Domino. We walked all aorund the 2km long island and found two sandy beaches, both of which were great for snorkelling in crystal clear warm waters. daytime temperatures were in the mid twenties and the nights didn't drop below 15°C in the last week of September, a good time to go as most of the holidaymakers had gone home, so we had plenty of space and choice. Prices are reasonable, you can get an evening meal for less than 12€ if you shop around. I recommend it for shivering British who want a last bit of summer at affordable prices before the winter sets in.

We went to this little beach during the last week of September. It catches the sun and the water is warm and clear, which makes it great for swimming and snorkelling. There are many species of fish to see and some interesting rock formations to explore. The water is calm and safe for younger ones, but I suggest the wearing of swim shoes as some of the rocks can be uncomfortable for bare feet. It is a steep climb back up!

It is amazing that this island and all it's ancient treasures have stood the test of time whilw more mmodern structures fall and crumble. The Church with its Crucifix, Altar and Mosaic floor is amazing. All that surrounded by cloisters and other ancient structures which you are able to wander through at leisure.

The main beach on San Domino is very small and busy but the sand and sea are great and the scenery wonderful, we paid 15 euros for two beds and an umbrella, from 4pm the palm trees offered shade from the sun.

During my stay I was lucky to experience both yoga and sup in the most beautiful setting, such as Tremiti islands. It was amazing to practice yoga in the open-air at the sunset (in accordance with the teacher you can choose a location for a private lesson, if you prefer). Vivien is a great teacher that guided me beautifully through the whole practice, and I couldn't recommend her and whole Jalapulia team more.

Not having a previous experience on the board, I first took a couple of lessons with the instructor Laura who taught me the basics of sup and then in a couple of days I was able to go around the island with it, which I can assure you is the best way to experience it. If you are lucky, you can even get a breakfast on the sea. :)

Nice place in the main square of San Domino. Perfect for breakfast, drink before or after dinner. Smiling welcome always both for locals and turists and this makes the best place in town.
