My wife and I visited Alicante Castle and I have to say, it was fantastic! The viewpoint is truly breath-taking and awe-inspiring. You get amazing, stunning views across the sea and the city of Alicante, and the mountains to the rear. It's incredible to think that the whole structure was built so many hundreds of years ago. And the best part? Entry is free.

The only downside is that getting to the castle can be a bit tricky unless you take the lift from the beach area.

The lift is easy to find, right across from the beach, and very reasonable at €2.80 per person. There is minimal queuing, only a few minutes. but remember there's about a 5-minute walk through the tunnel from the lift exit to reach the actual beach.

But trust me, the climb (or lift ride) is worth it for the views alone. I would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area.

My tip is that you bring some water and snacks with you, there is a snack bar at the top but it might not be open or it might be expensive for your taste.

A beautiful village truly worth visiting. Just a heads up: the location link on Tripadvisor might be incorrect. If you open it in Maps and zoom out, you'll see the village's actual location.

We used the excellent tram system to visit Vila Joisa on the Benidorm Line 1.
The system is very punctual and clean and reasonably priced. We purchased our return tickets from the ticket desk in the station although there are self service ticket machine available at the station and on the trams themselves.
All the stations have clear signage with the time of the next tram, with destination, so it’s a good way to get around the area.

A nice place for a walk and a look at the markets. The fountains light up at night and there are restaurants along the front too. A clean area with seating along the way. Look out for the panda

We went in January 2024 to see the Terracotta Warriors on loan from China and it was absolutely fantastic! Very thrilling as they arranged the rooms to build anticipation. Great job!

This is a great and small museum. It tells about the history while showing some of the beautiful work! It's a quick and free visit, so even kids can hold the interest without getting bored.

Summer is more fun than winter here because it is very cold to swim in winter but less crowded in winter months. What do you think?

Another free museum in Alicante - modern and central with a variety of changing exhibits.
An easy visit in the city centre.
Backpacks are not allowed and must be left at reception - no lockers.

€5 per person, seniors, to enter is decent value. The audio guide provides an interesting and informative insight into the history and culture of a truly fascinating building. Full of interest and atmosphere, the Bascillia is a wonderful, charming and extremely touching place to visit. The walk up to the top of the bell tower is a bit challenging but worth the effort because the views are spectacular.
