About
Nestled on an elevated site in the foot hills that hug Te Awanga, our cellar door has views down through our 42 acres of vines, across the Te Awanga basin and out to the wide blue Pacific Ocean. Decked out in white and plywood, our home in the Bay, with its sea views and salty air, is reminiscent of a New Zealand summer spent at the bach (holiday home). Chill, take your time and taste your way across the range from award-winning winemaker Rod McDonald – Trademark, Quarter Acre, Te Awanga Estate, One Off, and Mister. All day wine tasting and grazing (our menu changes seasonally, but check our website for our style of food) works by local artists and once a month during summer, we hold our world-famous-in-Te Awanga Sunday Sessions with live music from local artists on our front lawn. Or down-tools and stay a while in our cosy but cool Vineyard Apartment above the cellar door.

Had lunch with two friends today. The staff were amazing. Nothing too much trouble. Felt like we were the only party in the restaurant. Pizzas best in Hawkes Bay

Family holiday tripping around North Island, stayed a couple of nights in Napier and visited Te Awanga Estate. An absolutely lovely relaxing few hours for a casual lunch - great food paired with great wine. Suitable for children and teenagers. We arrived on a Saturday at midday - absolutely packed by early arv with a lot of people riding bikes between the wineries - tip, if with children, try to arrive a bit earlier - to miss the crowds ordering from the kitchen.

Great spot to grab some lunch and a delicious platter. Sit down on the deck or the lawn to enjoy some fine rose whilst soaking some sun.

We cycled from Napier with our 2 teenage daughters (on e-bikes) and had lunch here. We were seated outside on a sunny winter (July) day above the vines - great location! Had a very reasonably priced tasting of about 5 Te Awanga wines and enjoyed a bottle of the Syrah. The platter we ordered was first class. More than filling for 2, full of meats and cheeses and love. Our waitress was very friendly. Thanks for an enjoyable lunch after a long bike ride! 😀

My daughter and I visited Te Awanga vineyard for lunch. We had the best platter ever, overlooking the estate and sea.

Lovely spot. Tables were fully booked but that turned out to be for the best. Instead, they provide picnic blankets for you to sit outside overlooking the vineyard and do a range of platters and pizzas. We shared various pizzas - all lovely, and a few bottles of their different wines. Lovely vibe - there were lots of large groups there when we visited and a very enjoyable lunch.

We stayed in the apartment here for 2 nights, comfy bed and outstanding views. We enjoyed a wine tasting in the sunshine on a quiet weekday afternoon, and absolute winner. Jodi was attentive with a great knowledge of the product.

Amazing atmosphere, view, and welcoming people. Jodi the front of house staff was is the best (she should be the manager) delicious wine and food. Best way to finish a day. Highly recommend the Pinot Gris and pizzas on the grass. #Seamless Palette
