A stiff walk from town but worth the effort - a good snack/eating place at the top with reasonable prices. There is a charge for entry to the highest levels of the Castle.

Very nice beer garden 400 meters from where I live down the hill. Great place to take kids and play knights.

Made a day trip over from the French side of the Basel area. Taxi from St. Louis to Rotteln 50 Euro. Then going out we took a Lorrach-area Mercedes taxi into Basel for 60 Euro. Modest entrance fee, youngest kids were free. Nice small museum...More
