Would have been great if there were more frequent rides on the way back
Booked a round trip for the crossing. Bus came on time, but was named after another tour operator and picked up customers from different bookings, so make sure to ask if that’s the right bus for you. On the way back, we were told by the driver that the same bus will come at 1.30, 2.45 or 4. We practically ran the entire descent trying to make the 1.30 bus and came out of the forest at 1.38 and the bus was already gone. All other operators were there waiting for finishing passengers for long periods of time, but this one does not, so if you miss it you end up waiting for the next one which only comes an hour and fifteen minutes later. Overall experience was fine, but I feel there should be more available shuttles or the driver should have the ability to wait for 10-15’ for more arriving hikers.

Great transport option for the Tongariro Crossing
Great to deal with. Reliable service, good website, clear instructions, great staff. Massive advantage of being able to walk to our vehicle at the end of the walk so no time issues that you have with the other transport companies. Good to have secure parking, too.

Fantastic shuttle service! We opted for the return shuttle to drop us off at Mangetepopo to walk Tongariro Crossing and pick us up at the other end of the walk. They picked us up from the Park n Ride in National Park at 8:30 am on-the-dot which was excellent. The driver also checked everyone had the appropriate gear to walk the crossing successfully. Unfortunately, the weather past the Devil's Staircase portion of the walk meant we couldn't continue to the end of the crossing (snow, ice, and 75km/h winds at Red Crater 😨). A ranger/guide suggested we turn back, and we returned to the Mangetepopo carpark as the weather worsened. Once there we waited for about 10mins before some of the shuttle drivers checked on us to make sure we had a ride back with them to National Park. A full busload of us made it back to National Park within about an hour of returning to the start of the track. Tip: if you do need to return to the start, call the shuttle operator while you're on the mountain. I didn't have service once we made it to the car park shelter so couldn't call them, but luckily they were waiting there anyway since so many people were turning back. The shuttle drivers checked off each of their travellers from a checklist and cross-referenced them with other shuttle operators to ensure everyone got off the track safely. All the drivers did a great job making sure everyone was accounted for and getting shuttles out to the track start to pick up more returners.

Booked a return shuttle with this company, they cancelled due to bad weather which was understandable and offered a refund. No refund was received and an email asking for it as not been answered. My advice, go with another company!

National Park Shuttles was an amazing way to experience the Tongariro Crossings!
I used the Turangi return shuttle.
They were clear with communication, and notified me of time changes ahead of time (low peak season, so needed to merge with other walkers). Driver James was very professional, and we appreciated the complimentary drinks at the end of the walk.
Would highly recommend and aim to do it again in the future!

PS: Would recommend contacting the shuttle the day before just to check up on the weather and time for pick up.

The shuttle was right on time
The driver/guide team were very knowledgeable about the trail, had great advice and tips. They were VERY safety focussed, ensuring everyone knew what to expect. I was impressed that they told us if anyone could not complete the trail, they can turn back to the beginning and call them, they’ll pick you up.

Very smooth transfer and on time. Our driver also gave us some great facts about the area on the way there too.

We also had to rearrange the shuttle very last minute due to weather being bad on our proposed date and this was so efficiently managed by the National Park Shuttles team.

Would definitely recommend and would certainly use again if back.

Excellent communication from the begging to the last minute of the trip. Paul spend time talking us through history and the importance of the park for the Maori culture and, was flexible to make the best experience for everyone. It was a wholesome adventure, can't wait to come back ❤

Excellent service let’s you leave your car at one end of the track and walk it at your own speed. Experienced operators that won’t let you walk without correct gear. Would recommend this service for walking the Tongariro Crossing and would use it again should we ever come back!

WOW what an incredible team of people and service! Owner Tracey gave us a wonderful and informative introduction about what to expect up the mountain, before taking us on the short shuttle ride to the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Her whole ethos was about whanau and warmth, and we really did feel like we were part of her family by the end of it! She was like our honorary Aunty for the day - made sure everyone was well equipped and ready to go, and also asked that we text her once we were safely down the mountain so she knew we were ok. Before we got on our way, Tracey also gave us a Karakia (Maori prayer) to bless us on our journey - it felt incredibly sacred, and honestly set the tone for what was a magical experience up Tongariro.
Aside from the fact we could drive to and from the Crossing in our own car by using National Park Shuttles (which is so convenient) they are clearly so much more than transport. Would highly recommend!

We used National Park Shuttles one way to Ketetahi to start of the TAC. Booking was easy and efficient, as was the process on the day. We booked on the 7:00am departure and were on the track walking by 7:15!
