Hiked Bridal Falls first, then visited Ruapuke at sunset. Just amazing! Had the entire beach all to myself - not a single person! My footsteps were the only ones in the sand. Found wild lillies and picked a few for the bed-n-breafast I was staying...More

We drove from Raglan in the sea fog then just as the view came out so did the access to Ruapuke. we stopped for a cold but very cool picnic- its a lovely west coast beach and very accessible despite the road entrance.

A long sweeping beach perfect for walks and surfing. Excellent facilities including showers and changing facilities. Enjoyed a relaxing afternoon, reading and strolling along the black sands.

Run, walk the dog, run the dog and trot the horse - all are possible on this fairly rugged black-sand beach that stretches in a half-moon shape just a little ways out of Raglan township.

Raglan is a superb place and within minutes you are on the beaches. Some are on the inlet, others more exposed. Whatever your inclination the beaches are superb and rightly so there are helpful signs about safe enjoyment of them. If yo are visiting Hamilton...More

You have to experience this beach; no photo does the expansiveness and the colors of the area justice. Signs up all over the place - not recommended for swimming as it is quite rough and in April quite cold. The beach ranges from a sparkling...More
