Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic experience in Hamilton! Amanda guides you on a exploration of Asian cuisine, cultural traditional and curated stories as you embark on a culinary adventure in Hamilton CBD. You get to "meet the makers" including the chef, the family owners, the talented baker and the devoted couples. They share an little insight into their journey and sense of arrival in New Zealand. The experience is very intimate considering you are sometimes in a very busy restaurant - it's like being in someone's home they way they host you, feed you and share stories of their past & present. My top tip is to not eat lunch or any snacks beforehand. Although each place you visit was meant to only give you a 'taster', they express true gratitude through generous servings of their cuisine. I got to experience a few new things like pork floss on a sweet bun, spicy aubergine with a tempura texture, a flavorsome daikon (Japanese radish) and the most delicious dumplings. Highly recommend this epxerience for a family, group of friends, a corporate outing or just for fun. You will come away feeling inspired, replete and proud of these talented people who call Hamilton home and share their love on a plate. I'll definitely book this tour again!

This was fun - a small (maybe 10 people) sociable group were led through Hamilton to around 6 restaurants, diverse range with the overarching "Asian" theme. Our host Amanda was great, really knowledgable and with infectious enthusiasm, ensuring our group of both friends and strangers knitted together well for a fun day. The restaurant owners were lovely, genuine, and welcoming - and the food was fabulous! We were warned to "pace ourselves" (a challenge given the abundance of food at each stop) and those that didn't paid the price for overindulging, barely making it to the end... I'd certainly do this again, and it's also given us a "drop-off" point for future Hamilton restaurant adventures. Great concept, and Amanda and the restaurateurs certainly deliver a great experience.

Oh - the face mask question below: This was New Zealand in April 2021, totally COVID-free. Go the team of 5 million!
