Snipper drive is breathtaking. Historic drive Cliffs and steep falls on either sides. Gold mining through the rocks would not have been easy. There is also an old hotel and the stories around that is also interesting. Finally the river and the Jet drive was amazing !

From start to end, everything was outstanding. This is just not normal Jet ride experience you also have a bus trip on the most notorious hill road with commentary on the history yet the safest ride ever. Jet ride has some of the best views you’ll ever get with an extreme adrenaline rush. I intend to visit back again & do this tour again with more of friends & family.

I've never really seen the appeal of jet boating, to be honest, but I'm so glad we chose to go with Skippers when we finally booked - because it was awesome! We had a really informative and beautiful drive through a breath-taking canyon, followed by a thrilling ride along a far more interesting and spectacular part of the Shotover river than some of the other companies offer. If you're going to go jet boating (and I recommend you do), this family-run company are the guys to go with!

Exhilarating, fun and stunningly beautiful! What a fabulous adventure from the twisty turn over the edge drive up to the beyond exciting and Exhilarating sonic blast through Skipper Canyon! Rob was a great driver and a fun and entertaining guide. Ben was tremendously skilled piloting the jet boat! What an absolute ly thrilling experience! Highly recommend this local family business!

Jet boat ride was brilliant fun, really appreciated seeing the enthusiasm of Elliot the boat driver and him pointing out lord of the rings filming spots. The journey along skippers road was a thrill as well and our diver was a joy to listen to as he told us the history of the road.

What an amazing adventure, from the travel into the canyon to the jet boat ride itself. The staff are wonderful. Great commentary on the bus trip into the canyon and while on the jet boat experience. The team are very professional and incredibly talented. Thank you for the most memorable and fun adventure on our New Zealand holiday. A must do for anyone traveling to Queenstown/New Zealand. Thanks again for such an adventure packed morning. Loved every minute.

This is an awesome trip which combines a jetboat ride with a bus ride into the Skipper's Canyon. I would recommend this trip to everyone

The trip down the canyon and the insane jet boat ride was amazing! Would recommend to anyone of all ages! The staff were all friendly and informative too

Hi, I would love to do this but I get hill sickness. How far is the drive from pick up point till the boat and after the boat ride back to the drop off point? Is the road very winding?

Agree with the comment above about road, steep and winding and about 45 minutes plus to get to boat launch site.
HOWEVER, if you are game and ready for a higher cost, you can take a helicopter ride from the airport in Queenstown, round trip, to the site where the Jet Boats leave and return. We took the bus one way and the helicopter back to the airport....thrilling ride on all three: bus, Jet Boat, and helicopter.
Hope this helps with another option.

It was $195pp and I would think it is fine for a fit and healthy 80 year old, It is a family run business and very caring people. Not sure about pickups but they may.

They would certainly enjoy the jet boat ride - however I'm not sure their attention could be kept up on the bus ride out to the canyon ... The views are magnificent however I understand children are not always into scenery ... My question would be "have you travelled distances with them on a bus before? And if so how did they go ?"
I would also check if there is an age requirement for the jet boat !

The bus ride to the attraction is nothing short of spectacular both there and back. Scenes from Lord of the Rings were shot there, which the Driver spoke about. He was very informative. Once there the jet boat experience happened and what a thrill. We have done the Shotover jet before and this one was far better as you also got the bus ride experience as well. Really worth going on. I would love to do it in the winter with the snow around.
