You can see why the Crusaders put a castle here because the views of the surrounding area is stunning and you can see for miles all around. If you are going to the castle be prepared to pay JOD0.70 to use the toilets before you...More

We made a detour to see Karak Castle. The view from the castle is very nice. The castle by itself is massive, but there is few to see.

very nice Crusader Castle with ruins and some buildings restored, worth the visit - around one hour and a very nice panoramic view of the town, but watch out for the guides in front of the entrance, some of them are not friendly and pushy

This ancient castle has a very rich and interesting history and worth 1.5-2 hours of visiting. I am not very interested in archaeological sightseeings and usually try not to visit such places, but this time I made an exception (due to very interesting descriptions in...More

Background: My friend and I stopped by at Kerak on the way from the Dead Sea to Petra. The drive along the King's Way was in itself truly spectacular. I had heard much more about Kerak than about say, Jerash or Ajloun, before I visited...More

Big site, lots of exploring possible. A bit unlit in places but did not spoil visit. Parents should be very careful with young children as there are drops and unsafe edges. Some artisanal crafts and foods inside of good quality and fair price. Toilets just...More

This is almost a small village rather than a Crusader castle. There is very little signage so a guide (there are many of them hanging around the entrance) or a guidebook are a good idea. Well worth a visit.

This for us was a convenient pit stop on our travel south. If you are driving, signposting once in town is quite poor, there is no designated parking and it is a case of trying to find a space in the streets surrounding the castle...More

The Castle of Karak has been kept by Crusaders and Arabs both, so gas a composite structure. Before to enter, take a look on it from the panoramic viewpoint in the town (segnaletic billboards along the road). The best thing is that you can go...More

Hi, The Mosaic School is a school subsidized by the Jordanian government where locals from poor communities learn how to craft and do mosaic art pieces. The facilities are very simple, but their store is fantastic. Almost a... More
