Small ancient Town on a hill top. Beautiful old stone houses and little streets. Panoramic view from top of the hill. Town is mainly abandoned apart from a few houses and 1 restaurant, no shops or cafés.

I loved the place. You felt the history so deeply that you just soaked it all in quietly. And the view there was simply breathtaking.

We were all amazed by this old village built on top of a rock. Only one inhabitant left. The legend tells the story of a pig thrown down the valley hundreds of years ago . The biggest piece found was one hear.

Wonderful to go back in time and see Marche how it was more than hundred years ago. We came in the rain but the view was still amazing. Could imagine it would be nice to come for a picnic on a sunny day.

El Cito has recently been renovated. You get a feel of how the place would haev looked when it was lived in albeit that holiday homes gentrify it. Better than when it was crumbling. There are still places which are in disrepair. It has places to stay and rent. In 2016 we found that a panini place opened. They have a bedroom to rent. There is a camp site which in may was covered in wild flowers (better further up the road which winds through oak and beech woods to) in the meadows at the top of the mountain. There the alp in late may early June has a huge range of wild flowers, where the orchids peonies, narcissi, carpet the grass so that green is not eh dominant colour…
