Akbar's Fortress here at Fatepur Sikri is a gem and the Lotus Throne is one of its most distinctive features. it is a carved red sandstone pillar in the centre of the main palace. I don't have too much info on its history, but what I do recall is how beautiful and impressive it is and how central it is to the palace itself. Well worth taking in as your tour the complex as a whole

first of all, must park vehicles / cab miles away to a pacific parking area, Then take a shuttle Buses from there to Fatehpur Sikri Complex / Compound.

In Fatehpur Sikri Diwan-i-Khas was considered as the private chamber of the emperor with huge pillars, central platform and attached diagonal galleries. This central platform of the building is known as the Lotus Throne .

Tickets – Applicable for Children, Adults , Foreigner , SAARC Foreigner , Same Entry Ticket for all Fatehpur Sikri Complex / Compound
Camera – Tickets Applicable

Must Have – Sun Glass, Water Bottles , Comfortable Shoes, Hat/ Caps , Extra PolyBag for garbage, empty bottles, empty food packets

Avoid in Afternoon walking because of Sun heat and Harsh Lighting

If you get Fine and proper Guide By Luck Then you have know lot`s of historical and interesting fact about this place. It`s a difficult to find a logical and proper Guide there so better to book a proper guide before start journey from Agra

Local Shopkeepers are fully disturbing you with full of power , so better to avoid them .
The Lotus Throne Pillar is known for its massiveness and magnificence. This single red stone pillar is constructed with a set of 36 arched-shaped and pensile brackets holding up the circular raised area from which emanated four passages. This 6m high architectural wonder was believed to be supporting the Akbar’s throne. He sat on this central chamber while his nine gems and the other ordeals of the court occupied the galleries to discuss the affairs of the state. But since the galleries were narrow enough to accommodate all its ministers, this belief that private meetings were held in this chamber was dismissed.

Worth a visit for history lovers. It is here the faith Din I Ilahi (single religion ) started by Akbar.
All religions are welcomed. The decision to translate Mahabharatha and ramayana into persian was taken here. Worth visiting in fatehpur sikri . beautiful architecture. This is not the throne but the pillar which supported the throne.

Make sure you get a guide who tells you the story about this place. There is so much logic in it but you wouldn't know it unless they tell you. And I'm not going to do a spoiler for it ;-)

This Lotus Throne you would see inside the Diwan-e-Khas of the Emperor. The Engravings on the lotus and the wall represents different religions at the same place. Taken together it represents and symbolize that God is one.

It is a sensational and unique experience to be standing in the Diwan-i-Khas or Hall of Private Audience, where Akbar sat on the famous Lotus Throne to council his advisers and administer justice.
He obviously had the highest position, his immediate advisers around the gallery and the rest in the room underneath. Petitions would be handed to him via one of the four walkways to his throne.
The building and throne are in immaculate condition, so it's easy to let your imagination run wild.

The guide was great but it was a lot of money. The place showed the ruler had an affection to treat all religion as one.

Upstairs, in the center, was the Emperor, surrounded in each of the corners of his most important ministers. On the ground floor were the "nobles" standing in the audience.
A room with an elaborate architecture from which stands the central pillar, on which the Emperor listened to the "nobles".

This is a very interesting part of the palace. The structure is elaborate and worth seeing. We had taken electronic audio guides (found near the ticket counter), which explain the theories and facts surrounding the different parts of the palace, including this one.

The elaborate and peculiar design is said to have symbolized Emperor Akbar's vision of all faiths being valid paths to God, with Akbar as the one who unites them all.

The pillar under the lotus structure is also amazingly carved.
