More a Park
Jul 2018
The pool of the spa is closed for some time now. The place seem underappreciated. It is possible to ask to drink the water of the water source but the place is closed by default, not able to entrance just to visit. This place is insert in the meddled of a park which was under construction for a play park for kids. We saw a map indicating a mini golf, but we not see any. The indications for the parking lot should be improved, other wise people would not now were to park.

campsite - avoid

we endured 2 nights here as needs must but it was the worst site we came to in Portugal and I would advise find an alternative. We were motor homing and at best only 5 pitches are in reach of a hook up unless you have a really really long cable. They have to unlock and lock the sockets so if you happen to trip the switch there is no way to retrieve the situation. The pitches are very shady and dank and none are level. But all this is tolerable; what is not is the noise. The hook up pitches are directly opposite the communal barbecue area and this seems to be used by casual visitors and not just paying campers, and we endured disturbed nights with merry rowdy gatherings late into the early hours - seems with the tacit encouragement of staff. There is wash up facilities but no hot water, and water only available at the main shower block. Very dubious place.

Charming & Hidden Respite
Aug 2017 • Couples
A walk in the woods leading up to the Termas (springs or baths) at Melgação made for a relaxing approach to the springs themselves, the main fountain (fonte) of which is housed inside an Art Deco style building built in 1915. We caught the attendant at the fountain before it closed for the afternoon (typically open in the morning from 9:30 to 12:30, then 15:30 to 18:00), and tasted the nearly salty, mineral-filled, effervescent waters. There are more treatments that you can schedule, or you can stay nearby and take a full "cure," but for me just the after-lunch stroll and walk through the charming building was a welcome respite.

Beautifully renovated spa
Aug 2017 • Family
We went to the spa after a long hike in the mountains and it was very refreshing, the water was colder than expected, but there is a nice 'thermal spa circuit' that is reasonably priced that allows you access to the pool with different water jets as well as the hammam and sauna. The sauna wasn't hot enough but the hammam was nice. The pool would be nicer if it was a touch warmer. You can also enjoy the beautiful gardens around the spa as well as drink the famous Melgaço spring water!

What a nice spot!
Nov 2015 • Family
This is an awesome spot surrounded by Nature everywhere. You can also enjoy here the local thermal sparkling water that runs through this spot at the very North of Portugal seaside.

Nice place for a walk
Aug 2016 • Family
We went there out of curiosity, the fountain was closed for an event but there were no signs of it. Spa seemed close and there were no adverts or instructions on how or where to ask for information, neither for the mini-golf.
It is howewver a nice place by a river to go for a walk, particularly the promenade.
