When you’ve just spent 12 hours traveling, there is nothing better than Mt Adatara. Catch the cable car to the half-way point and then enjoy the moderate walk to the summit for awesome views! Get here in the morning to reach the summit around midday...More

On May 17th 2017, we visited Mt. Adatara taking the Rope way to the Yakushidake. Round trip is 1,700 yen but we enjoyed 400 yen-discount with a voucher purchased at the hotel we stayed.

Went today Jun 29 2016, unfortunately no time to do real hiking up to the top and made use of the ropeway costing JPY1600/pax roundtrip. The rain stopped when we reached the top but still unable to really see panoramic view because of grey rain...More

The hike is challenging but is safe and not excessive. It offers an excellent view of a volcanic crater at the top and well worth the effort. We started from the Adatara Ski Resort near Dake Onsen. Total ascend to the top is about 800m....More

I heard that the top part is still covered by snow in May this year, so by December, it is most likely snowed over as well. Based on my hike during summer time, my prediction is that there should not be much problem going... More
