This is the main shopping street in Aizuwakamatsu with lots of picturesque buildings selling souvenirs and handicrafts. The best part of our visit was the Suehiro Sake Brewery, which offered a great free tour (Japanese only) and sake tasting.

This is the merchant district of the township of the joukamachi (castle town) of Aizu-wakamatsu. Here some of the Edo era heritage has been preserved. So I suggest you stroll the streets to pick up some gifts at the shops. One interesting feature of Nanokamachi...More
