Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice variety of local and tropical environments. Informative for older children, tropical fish for young children to follow, relaxing for adults.

I think this a publicly funded (along with admissions) research aquarium. It is not the biggest or most spectacular aquarium I've ever been to but it is a well done aquarium. (no dolphin shows) The main tank(s) shows the connection of the warm and cold currents which is located near Iwaki. My favorite exhibit is a medium sized tank housing garden eels mostly submerged in the sand with a school of fish. This is a great place to visit during the hot and humid summer months. I believe this aquarium is also involved in coelacanth research.

As the tsunami caused a lot of damage in Iwaki and for the Aquamarine, it's nice that they could repair everything and got new animals instead of the dead ones. It's for science so there's no doplhin shows, but they has seals, otters and fennec foxes besides the fish. We caught the feedng for the latter two. They were really cute.

This aquarium holds a good range of fish and sea life. Self explanatory displays in english which is very convenient, and I got to see sea lions, and otters. There's a beautiful triangle shaped arch way which you can walk through. Took heaps of photos here.

I went here with kids and could learn a lot from this aquarium. I could see the replica of an extinct ancient fish.

My daughters love this place! Their favorite this is to fish and eat what you caught right away. They cook/fried the fish in front of you. My brother said that it was the best fried fish he ever had eaten. Also, kids loved to play in the pond/ocean shore area. You can get inside the water with clothes because it's shallow. Just don't fall to get wet.

日本の水族館がお通しのように、皆さんは魚やうなぎをよく食べたがっていたよ!なるほど水族館の中に寿司屋もある。

We also had a tour of the "behind the scenes" inner workings of the aquarium that day.

Absolutely must see. I visited in 2006 (the required date would not let me go further back than 2015), so I am sure that it is very different now, but this aquarium was by far the highlight of my trip and I will be back.
