Staying in nearly Abbeville it was a short 30 minute drive to St Valery to catch our train. It departs right from the picturesque harbour from where it runs across the canal and out alongside the Baie de Somme. On this part of the journey...More

Where else could you see two steam trains depart at the same time at Noyelle. Full of interest and very friendly staff, Saint Valery sur Somme is a charming place if you get the chance try to visit all 3 lines

We decided to go on this railway, as previously I had gone on it's twin the Kent and East Sussex railway. Finding the station at Le Crotoy was a bit of a challenge as it is quite hidden away. Our satnav wasn't much use. But...More

We arrived at Le Crotoy in the afternoon and found somewhere to park after the train had come in. The advice to get there early if catching the 11 o’clock train is clearly wise. Travelled to St.Vallery and back on the same train. Train reverses...More

We had cycled from Le Crotoy to Saint Valery and this was perfect for our return trip. We were able to store our bikes in one of the carriages. The train journey took about an hour. The only downside was that it was very crowded....More

The Locals love this train with a passion. Dogs children and passers by stop and line up to wave, you feel like The Queen. It all very good natured though some resentment is caused when groups of English Day Trippers get reserved carriages. The train...More

The kids enjoyed this last year... so here we are back again. No two trips are the same as you can decide which way you go. The staff are helpful and the steam trains are all good family fun.

For those people who like a trip down memory lane or experience a little bit of history, this is a lovely tartly, steam train ride through beautiful countryside. There are all classes of carriages, and we hopped onto 3rd class - it was beautifully restored.
