Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here for lunch while doing the coast walk from Anchorage Bay to Marahau. An idyllic little spot, very few people, gentle surf. I was constantly amazed by the lack of litter everywhere I went in Abel Tasman. Stillwell Bay is no different. A gorgeous little bay. There's a drop toilet farther along the beach if you need it. Just keep an eye on the water, as you can be cut off from the trail head when the tide comes in.

This is a stunning beach and we were the only ones there! A perfect break along the walk along the coast.

During our three day Abel Tasman Coastal walk we stopped in at Stilwell Bay for am picnic lunch. It is pretty and easily accessible from the track.

Hard to review separately as you have to trek to get there unless you water taxi in and out which might be an option for a family with small children--spend a few hours watching them chase the seagulls --looked like great sandbar swimming at the north end (check it for rips with the Aquataxi skipper).
Otherwise--if you are doing any part of the trek--the lure of the beautiful beach and waters will draw you down for a sand pedicure and a rest

While kayaking we saw seals and beautiful birds up close. Since it was windy the guides helped us connect our boats and set up a sail. We had a picknic on the beach

Not too far from the start at Marahau, easy to walk to this bay in a hour or so from the track start.

This is just one of the many beaches in the Abel Tasman National Park. Easy walk in to this beach so take a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

What should have been a beautiful and tranquil beach in a National Park was overtaken by at least 20 water skis, the noise of water skiing all day long and the smell of diesel. I was surprised this was allowed in a National Park.

A quiet bay, swimming is safe and welcome after a long walk. Waters lapping and clear: ideal picnic spot too:
only sad thing is that either the boaties or other trampers seem to leave bits of their rubbish behind.. :(
