My family has a House on Fontane Bianche and I think I know this Place the best. So firstly After all the complains in the Reviews I give you all a tip. Don’t go on August. I mean if you really think it’s a good idea to go on a famous beach in sicily when the Italiens have holidays, then I can‘t help you. Always go in june or july. Secondly: Don‘t Rent couches . Just buy for the half money a blanket and eat great to midday on the beach bar. I Hope I could help you.

Staff are extremely rude. Booked beds, umbrella and bought meals and drinks. Staff so unhelpful, slammed down drinks, mumbled Italian under their breath and appeared to not want customers.
Travelled along way to be here, certainly won't be back.

Free beds, which we enquired about, we were happy to spend the money to use them. Only to be told they were not available, at least 30% of the sun loungers were empty...i guess it is what it is... ☹️

My sister/brother-in-law have a large beach house at Fontane Bianche. It used to be lovely, uncrowded (as was Ognina) and offering few, but competent, restaurants.
The natural attractions are still there, but the crowds on the beaches, the cars parked everywhere -and I mean:everywhere-, the traffic and the growth of cheap touristy stores and food places have taken their toll.
Just outside Fontane Bianche, to the south, there is a solitary oasis of peace at a motel called Valle di Mare: great pool, free access to well organized beach with boat rental, best pizza in town. Try it.

...they did not (yet?) find the time to clean the beach of natural waste (Seegras) and plastic. It‘s a real pitty that there are no public bathrooms as well and we still wonder (not) where all the human waste will go in high season.
Besides, we love the place and the beautiful beach.

We were there in October ( low season had started), very few people on the
beach. Were given 2 chairs and an umbrella for 15€. Parking was free ( and empty)
The owner runs the cash. He is polite but doesn't care much for speaking other
than Italian. He rumbles a few words in english.
Had lunch with a few beers during the day. Food was good and price was ok.
The beach is beautiful. We were very pleased with our day spent there but i
assure you we wouldn't go in high season.

We booked 4 places on that beach Saturday morning at 8 am for the next day Sunday. They said we should be on the beach before 11 am. Sunday morning we were coming from Catania (1,5 hours for the road!) and we were there about 10.30 but blocked for 20 mins in a traffic created with the cars going to Beach club situated before this one, my husband called them to say we can be late for 10-15 mins and the man on the reception said that after 11am he will give our places to other people that didn't book and waiting for some luck. Are you kidding?? Absolutely not normal attitude to a client! We will never come back to that beach and be sure I'll write in all sites negative reviews about your place, you deserve only zaurde on your place like you are! Good luck!

*Overpriced sun beds .. they keep the good beds that are central to facilities free for folk who they think “fit the bill” they decide who sits there
*mediocre school canteen food of low quality and you can only sit where they want you to sit and there aren’t enough places for everyone and they don’t care
*Rude staff who don’t care and it shows
*Tight on space (Benidorm in high season springs to mind !)
*Sea is beautiful, safe and warm but yes has seaweed because after all, it’s the sea !
Glad we didn’t go at the start of the holiday.. there are much nicer places to go .. notably in Noto, not too far away .. research before you commit

We were there for the first few days of September and are really glad we chose this beach and beach club.

Beautiful soft, white sand. Clean water.

The lounge chairs and umbrella were in good condition. The staff were quite nice and efficient but understand a little Italian goes a long way and they are BUSY! Arrive no later than 10am and stay for the day. There are people who pay for chairs and an umbrella for the season so those closer to the club house are typically booked. That is why you may be back from the beach or at the far end near the public beach.

Everyone seemed to respect each others' space and belongings. People kept to themselves and were quite pleasant and polite. Of course you get your odd family crowd but people were courteous.

Very safe beach. You should exercise some caution but people had items left behind while they swam and no one bothered with them.

There are refreshments including some nice fresh fruit - worth the price when we were there - and pretty good gelato. That's actually an understatement.

If you stay at the Hotel Villamare I strongly recommend you take advantage of the voucher which gets you a discount at the Lido Fontane Bianche beach club if you are for chairs and an umbrella. We highly recommend this.
You don't have to rent chairs and an umbrella to purchase food and drinks here.

People also bring lunches. We bought meat, cheese and bread at a bottega - look for Holiday Market on Viale dei Lidi above the end of the public beach.

Taormina is popular and we ended up there a few days later on our way to the mainland. The beach was down a hill (a tough walk both down and up in the heat) and rocky! If you like walking on and lying around on rocks - fine. It was also more crowded than Fontane Bianche. They also had beach clubs and the pricing was comparable to Lido Fontane Bianche. The only upside to Taormina was the variety of restaurants if you take the funicular up to the town proper at a fairly steep price if done on a daily basis.

I highly recommend the beach and Lido Fontane Bianche if you want a casual beach vacation to do almost nothing except go in and out of the water. I would return if I am in the area again.

We stayed here for 5 days and loved it. A lot of Italians (which is always a good indicator).
Not many restaurants, so don't go here for a gastro tour. We did it at the start of a 5 day holiday and were so relaxed by the time we left (for Siracusa) that I thought my arms may have fallen off.

It's not for everyone (especially if you're not comfortable making yourself understood when not many people speak English), but good memories and completely de-stressing.
