I loved visiting the William Ricketts Sanctuary. It was so peaceful to wander around and see the beautifully craved sculptures. Highly recommend.

What a perfect time to visit on a cold windy day we had the place to ourselves and what a beautiful serene place it is. The sculptures are breathtaking and what a brilliant man with a incredible vision and understanding of the central desert people....More

Definite need to see if you’re local to the area or passing through. Lots of things to see and so many photo opportunities. Great place created by an imaginative creative being. My daughter was surprisingly well behaved and loved looking for birds.

This is an interesting place to stop if you want to really get a sense of the creativity of this sculptor. And the beauty of the bush in the Dandenongs. Best part is its free! Owned and managed by Parks Victoria. The lady on the...More

Took a couple of American friends to the sanctuary. I hadn’t been there for 30 years. They were blown away with the experience and the beautiful setting and intriguing sculptures. This unique experience is now on my must do when entertaining overseas or interstate guests.

Coming from Skyhigh Dandenong, we took the other road going back. However, the weather wasn't really nice that day but was able to see some of the sculptures. We haven't seen them all but really is worth a visit.

About 2 hours is quite enough. Gives you time to look around, soak in the ambience, take photos and read beautiful inscriptions under the statutes.

Sorry for late reply, you’ve probably already been. I don’t remember seeing any signs saying no dogs but I doubt you would be able to take dogs in there.

I would think you must rent a car and meander around the area of the sanctuary as the small towns / villages are amazing. I doubt if public transit goes there but I am not from the area. The sanctuary was mind boggling but... More
