The bazaar was for a great deal destroyed after the Kosovo war but nicely reconstructed. There are many small shops selling clothes, silver and so one. There is an old mosque on the square but the place misses a bit the atmosphere you will find...More

Unless you are looking for the local style of jewelry there is not much of interest at this renovated bazaar area, but then I live in Morocco where we have super bazaars in most towns. Interesting for the historic architecture only.

A really fascinating area with lots of old architecture and shops which seem to sell literally everything. Make sure you go early as shops close earlier than I expected (I got there around 6pm the first day)

Peja's old bazaar. It is a large section of town built during the Ottoman period. The shops are small and the streets are narrow. Architecturally speaking, the place is nothing special. But what makes it different from the other bazaars and somewhat interesting is that...More

We visited quite a number of Bazaars in Kosovo, but this was one of my favorites. I enjoyed the many dress shops as well as the variety of the stalls.

The cheese market was over hyped. Only a handful of vendors. The rest of the market was filled with local, everyday stuff and a lot of local people. I personally liked the old bazar in Pristhina better.

Maybe it was only on the weekends, which we were told that. Hard to find and where we thought it was on the map the tourist information center gave us... there was no bazaar. Lots of shops. Rows and rows of dress shops for glamor...More

Peja has markets everyday but on Saturdays they are larger with more fresh produce, local handicrafts and locally made cheese brought in on Saturdays in giant wooden barrels, paint buckets and any other storage vessels to be creatively used. Homemade yogurt is also available. The...More

When you realized this bazaar was almost totally destroyed in 1998-99 you will be amazed at the restoration and revitilization done here. If you can get in to the old mosque which has been restored - Italian fresco painters did the work, you should go...More
