Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Its kind of puzzling why they leave this old shipwreck here to rot. You can see corrosion has eaten its way into the ship over the years.
This is also a residential area & this small ship is close to the coastal shore.
It's an unusual sight but also a very puzzling thing. Perhaps the best thing about this is that one do not need to dive into the ocean to see a real shipwreck.

The Janie Sheddon is a very interesting old wreck not too far off shore. Don't let the photos on here mislead you though - it's now classed as too dangerous to climb on. Make sure you go at low tide too otherwise the sand around it is essentially thick mud.
Wish there was a little more info around about the ships origins/story as I had to Google why it ended up where it is now.

Worth stopping for the photo of the wreck as much for the background of mountains and clouds but little else. A few minutes detour and a quick hop out of the car is all that’s required

This ship, the Twin Screw Steamer Janie Seddon sits derelict off the Motueka foreshore and has been a feature of the local seascape for years. Apparently, she was the first fishing boat purchased by the Talley's fishing group. After sinking at her moorings, she was left to rot at her current location. The Janie Seddon was originally bought by the New Zealand government as a military vessel and now is the last surviving NZ military ship to have served in both World Wars.

It was unexpected to see: old rusty wreck on a white sandy beach or almost covered by water. Anyway a thing you have to take a picture of when in Motueka!

This is and excellent area to walk and jog. The area is just a beautiful coastal scenic area. A must to do either at sunrise or sunset.

This wreck is must for all photographers. Get there before dawn. Take your wellies, its very muddy. Check the tides, best to get some water around it for the best photos. Lots of opportunities for bird shots in the estuary too.

Well...outside the Abel Tasman National Park! Wonderful walkways close to here and fantastic picnic area's. Swimming can be done approx 2.5 hours either side of the high tide. The mudflats provide wading birds a feeding ground and the lovely Godwits visit here annually too

If you have a few moments and fancy a short walk, try this small stretch of coastline and view the Wreck of the Janie Sessini with the mountains behind, great view but best at high tide!
