Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Challenging but rewarding hike- too longer than expected and we are both young and fit used to hiking. Would recommend you take a compression bandage if you have one as we saw a few snakes on the pathways and it’s very remote so time++ to get help if you’re in the middle of the track. That being said they are most likely to leave you alone! It was a good enjoyable hike with some great views!

This walk showed in brochures as moderate level walk. We are reasonably fit in our 50s but would rate as hard not moderate and took longer than suggested. Worth the trip but lots of up and down hill climbing.

A well marked track with some uneven surfaces but nothing challenging. A easy day walk. You can catch the bus either way or part-way through. A walk any person of average fitness could do.

A well maintained trail that seemed steeped from the bus than it was to climb. It's gradual, there's stops, manageable with some level of fitness.

Clear walking track, no toilets or water points. I would suggest runners or walking shoes, but you could get away with less. Possible to see koalas. Track is clear, however I would suggest in the wet season there maybe some water crossing and would definitely recommend good footwear. The walk from Arcadia to Horseshoe Bay is shorter walk, clearly marked, no toilets or water point. If you are not driving a car, make the most of the tracks to explore.

A good walk in the different types of bush on the island and brilliant views over the many bays but would only recommend this if you have a spare half day though.

Take a walk in the bush
Great views.
Good exercise.
Wear good shoes – running shoes are fine.
Watch your step – it is a national park not a suburban walkway!
Wear a hat.
Take water – it is often hot on Maggie island.

We love doing this 7km walk from Nelly Bay to Arcadia through the bush, with excellent views of Horseshoe Bay. Almost guaranteed to see koalas

the arcadia to horseshoe bay trail is brilliant! breathtakingly beautiful. i did this with three young children. it was tough - take plenty of water and take your time, it did feel hard in the humidity. we saw a rock wallaby and three koalas. lots of butterflies. the track is well made. it is just stunning! gorgeous. i loved it. it does feel like the never ending track. particularly when you come out at the end and then walk along the road forever to get into horseshoe bay (but you could jump on a bus). it took us 3.5 hours. we did a couple of detours - one to the top of a rock near the water tank and the other to the lookout. this is a really nice walk. quite hilly, but lovely. enjoy :)
