Great exhibition run by volunteers revealing the story behind Herberton and the Tin mining companies. Gold coin donation for entry. Some interesting private collections of 'rock hounds' as well as displays of a miners life, equipment required and a miniature display of a tin mine....More

Great for history buffs and a fascinating look into the history of mining in Australia. Heaps of rocks and displays so allow plenty of time to get around it all. Volunteers on duty were very helpful.

Spent quite a bit of time here, wandering through the museum and learning about the history of Herberton. We were so surprised to find what Herberton had to offer. Well worth travelling to and you could easily spend 2 or 3 days exploring the town...More

As we went to the Herberton Historic Village the tickets allowed us entry into the mining museum also. The only downside to our visit to this museum was that we didn't have enough time there. It is another really good attraction in Herberton to see,...More

A lot of work has gone into this museum! It's very informative on so many facets of mining history and well presented - and continues to expand each year! Apart from the static display, you can also walk through the bush to view old mine...More

We went here first, but if you go to the heritage town first, you get free admission here, although it only cost $1 each, so no big deal. Good selection of rocks and coal powered car

Hi and thanks - we really appreciate your review. We don't actually have a coal powered car but we do have a scale model tin dredge that really works!
