Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am a geologist and collect crystals. This place held nothing of interest for me. Both mine tours were closed on the Monday I visited. The gem stores and shops are a sorry looking collection of businesses not suggesting any worthwhile treasures inside. We drove on to Willows Gem Field and it was worse as there was nothing open to the public and nothing to do. We salvaged the day by driving south on paved and unpaved roads through pretty hills to Springsure for a nice lunch.

Fun afternoon spent here fossicking. The owner was lovely and very helpful. The grounds are well kept with lots of hidden treasures in the gardens to explore. Definitely worth stopping.

What a wonderful and exciting way to spend a few hours in the Gem Fields. My young fella was taken under the wing of the owner who showed him exactly what to do, from filling the bucket, sieving and washing, then picking through to find the goodies.... And Goodies we found!!! Super fun, highly recommended.

Sam and I dropped in to see Mark to hire some extra gear and thank god we did… Marks knowledge of the area and everything fossicking is unsurpassed.
If you plan to go fossicking in the Gemfields then your first call is To mark at the fossicking park.
Hire gear, bags of quality wash and genuine help and energy to help you find a sapphire.
The park is as neat as a pin which says a lot for a fossicking business (lots of dirt)..
You can get your cutters faceted knowing that mark will take care right through the process.
Now to Mark, we had so many great experiences in the Gemfields and we will be back but you helped us make our trip something special and you went over and above to do so.
Fantastic park and we can’t wait to come back and go on a tour with you.
Everything you need to know and hire right here…. Just pick up the phone ask for Mark and make your trip as special as ours.
Thanks so much Mark

Great hosts Mark & Bonnie. We found 512crts of Sapphires in a bucket of wash. Next day we did the tag along tour and found a nice big blue Sapphire 19.12 crt.
Then back to the fossicking park for a BBQ lunch and a cold beer to wash the dust down.

Can not recommend Marks "Tag along Tour" high enough. He shared a world of information and knowledge. Took us out to some virgin ground in the gem fields supplied all equipment, morning tea and we found sapphires, what more can I say! Finished this wonderful day back at the park with BBQ, beer and a bag of wash. Awesome day a big thank you to Bonnie & Mark you made our holiday. 👍🏼

The Gemfields fossicking park was a great way to look for sapphires and other gems such as Zircons. Mark the owner was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about fossicking. All the equipment was provided and set out in a convenient way. We paid for 3 buckets of 'wash' to look for sapphires in (1 bucket for $20 or 3 for $50) and we managed to find a few sapphires and zircons. I will go there again if we visit Sapphire again.
