Found this place on English Heritage website and realised that was not far away from here on a day out. Off the roadside and with little parking, it is still worth finding somewhere to stop to take a few minutes to wander round - its...More

Spent a couple of hours here, more ruins than a castle. Parking very limited and keep man eye on children due to steep hills. Some information around the site and a nice stroll round the site and nice place to relax. No toilets or drink facilities....More

Interesting pictorial / information on how the castle would have looked.Although a ruin more remained than I had expected. The moat can be still be seen. Entry is free but not much parking space. Some hazzards to be aware of if taking young children.

I guess this is best viewed from above but lacking a helicopter (or really long stepladder) it's still a wonderful place to walk around. The turrets are easily imagined and it still has it's moat. It really will be lovely when they've finished building it!

Wow, I mean this place is old ! A whole bunch of antique rocks half buried in the ground. They say it may have been a castle and I am inclined to believe them. Where I come from this place would be in a museum...More
