Prior to visiting N Ireland I had seen a picture of the road and thought it would be good to take a drive down the road. I have never watched game of thrones and was put off a bit when I found out it was in this programme. However we were in the area it was raining and not too much else so we thought we shall give it a go. We got lucky as there was only half a dozen people there. Really enjoyed. The trees are old and knarled and sadly some have fallen down during recent storms. They are quite atmospheric. As we about finished three coaches pulled into the car park so it can get quite busy. The hotel is closed however you can park at the hotel for two pounds, which I thought was reasonable and it is only a short walk from thete to the road.

It’s very magical and picturesque place, especially for trees lovers like me. I didn’t know much about it so I only got there as it was included in my tour. I am so glad had chance to visit this place as it shouldn’t be missed!

Quirky if you’re a fan, but deathly boring if not. You are not meant to park in the street (you can park at the hotel or golf club) but some people still drive down the lane, ruining the experience and habitat for everybody. 25% of the trees have died in recent years due to pollution / cars parking on verges, damaging roots - maybe there needs to be a security firm in place fining people ??

First off, we were there in winter so not sure how it looks in the spring/summer/fall. I was honestly underwhelmed and was glad it was off season so we didn't have to pay to park or go on the walk. My son is a GOT fan and he liked it but agreed it was only worth a quick stroll and a few pics.
