About
The Anglican Church is one of the buildings still existing from the British period in Mwanza and can be visited during daytime. On Sundays, the English-speaking service begins at 9 am. The old and smaller church building used by the British is not used for services anymore, services are now held in the newer and bigger church building near to the street.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two church elders showed me around the St. Nicholas facility. There was an event in the oldest original chapel so we walked around the main church and grounds. The congregation was established in the 1940s and the first church was built in 1954. The church is V-shaped with two wings facing the altar. In the altar area is the tomb of the first bishop, who grew up near the border between Rwanda and Tanzania, not far from Mwanza. Stained glass windows and high ceilings made a soothing environment.

Two church elders showed me around the premises of Saint Nicholas. There was an event happening in the older original chapel, so we went through the main church and grounds. The congregation formed in the 1940s, and the first church was built in 1954. The church forms a V shape with two wings facing the altar. In the altar section is the grave of the first bishop who apparently grew up near the Rwanda border of Tanzania, not too far from Mwanza. Colorful glass windows and high ceilings made for a restful atmosphere.

It was the first time that I saw a V-shaped church with two wings which means that everybody in the congregation can se the altar.
There is also an old and smaller church building used by the British but it is not in use any more.
It is situated near bismack rock.
