Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pleasant enough but hard to believe it has hosted so many NZ opens. This is an easy walking holiday golf course but not the championship course we were expecting. Members very friendly

Great links course, a must play when visiting Wellington. Quality finish on the fairways, greens and beautiful lined bunkers. Greens runs quick as any high quality grounds with eye catching landscape. The Wellington winds provide an added challenge but you won’t be disappointed. Proshop was welcoming, friendly members, and very helpful with way finding if it’s your first time visiting.

I've been wanting to play PBGC since I can remember and finally had the chance this week. I wasn't disappointed. The course is brilliant, challenging and at times, just beautiful. I joined two members and had a super afternoon. I appreciated their guidance (to be advised as there are golf ball eating dragons if you stray!) and friendly banter.
Such a good day. I can't wait to come back again soon.

Picked this out of the Golf digest 50 best GC in NZ. We went over to see my daughter and this time I had to take my clubs. We contacted the Pro who said a tournament was on over the entire weekend but got me on on Sundy morning. We started on the 10th a short par 4 nice and easy - perfect fairway - perfect greens and a early tribute to the absolute Links course this is. Some of the holes were so beautiful that you forgot how hard they really were. I found the guys in the Pro shop happy to help. I did not get a chance to pop into the club because we went to NZ to see my daughter and I took the morning off...But it was absolutely worthwhile. Make sure you play this course

With many new and amazing courses being built in New Zealand some may find this course a little underwhelming. But on reflection I'm certain they will say this course is about as much fun as you can have standing up. The truest links course south of the equator. Great staff and nice food complete one of those perfect golf days - darling i'm coming back!

Located north 52 Km north of Wellington on the Kapiti coast this links course is a serious challenge. Undulating fairways, table top greens and pot bunkers feature. Navigating the NZ open course was difficult with poor signage. We often had to place balls due to eroded and poor fairway conditions. The club house menu was very limited and we chose to lunch else were. This course needs to step up its game to justify its top dollar green fees and regain parity with NZ best.

The 4 of us generally enjoyed our day at Paraparaumu except for the price. Yes its a challenging layout but far from its heyday when it hosted the NZOpen and not worth the $150 price tag. Half that would be a fairer price. Greens were tough but in excellent condition - true, consistent and hard. But don't expect borrow and break. Straight as a die. Fairways variable and really bare in places. Pro shop staff were excellent too - good natured and helpful.

8 Gents travelled away for 3 days of golf with Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club being our first call on Friday 13th October. We were all looking forward to playing the course as none of us had played it before. Overall we were a little disappointed as our first impressions were tainted by the woman who greeted us. Our confirmed tee booking was for 9.32am and 9.40 or next following which by chance i received by email from the woman above. From the outset she was quite abrupt and trying to rush us all the time telling us they had a big field. I pointed out our tee time was 9.32 to which she abruptly replied it is now at i think 9.16 but well early. Unfortunately i did not have the email copy with me in the van but since confirmed first tee time was 9.32. The course itself was in great condition, however the weather packed in after 12 holes and we got very wet. In fact apparently very few finished and even less started so given we spent about 800 bucks they probably got the best end of the deal. My only complaint about the actual course would be the course signage as directions for 8 newcomers was average. The saving grace was one of the cafe and bar staff who was lovely and great food to finish.

Hi Grant Apologies I have just seen this and apologies for the confusion at the time of check in with the incorrect booking and with what appears a less than satisfactory welcome for which we pride ourselves on. I am guessing you may have traveled to be with us but by way of amends I would like to comp your next round with us if you make it back. manager@pbgc.co.nz I am glad you enjoyed the golf course proper and hope the rest of your trip went well. Leo

I took the opportunity to play Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club and thoroughly recommend it - the pro shop lady Sheila was so friendly and the three members I played with were fantastic help on the course (thanks so much Frank Barry and Kerry). The course has a number of truely great holes and the signature par 4 13th hole was a beast. I also enjoyed the 17th - too many good holes to list. Can't wait to get back again for another crack!
