Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We always enjoy a trip here with family - grandchildren especially love the water park. Plenty of room for children to run around, have a swing or slide and the train on Sunday is a bonus. BBQ's available or take a picnic and sit on the grass.
A short walk to the beach if you feel like a swim or to view the beautiful Kapiti Island.

Fantastic little park with water fun, picnic areas and also easily accessible near shops and beach... Loads of fun, especially for the younger members of the family (but older ones had fun too!).

Came here with the extended family. I couldn’t believe how small the crowd was using this amazing facility. Parking, slides, water and trains! What else do kids want to do.

If it’s a hot day the kids will live cooking down here at this cool park with all its activities including water ones. Free for everyone this park can get rather busy and is popular with the locals.
Lots to entertain your kids anytime of the year here!
Other than the kids it’s generally a nice park to stroll or picnic in.

Great splash pad and park for the little kids. Free bbqs and some picnic tables for your use. Kapiti Miniature Trains is also here but check open times so you visit while it's running.

What a cool park! The water feature is my favourite but it also has mini train, flying fox, usual swings and slides.
Bring togs and towel for kids, but the water part of the park closes over winter, spose there would be too many blue lipped kids and red faced dads (they'll be fine honey.....)
We got fish and chips from across the road, (really yummy fish and chip shop) and went to the top of the hill where the view is just outstanding!

I visited Marine Gardens with a family group comprising 6 adults and 5 children aged 3 years to 10 years and had a great time. There is plenty of space for children to use up their energy and they had a fantastic time in the play area and on the "splash pad". There is also a miniature train although this was not operating at the time of our visit. We had taken a picnic lunch and found plenty of shade under one of the many trees where we ate lunch. There are shops only 5 minutes walk from the gardens. The gardens are completely safe and there is plenty of free car-parking within a couple of minutes walk. There are also a number of gas operated BBQs.

We took our boys (8 and 11) to Marine Gardens in Raumati only to find that the park has been designed primarily with younger children in mind. The miniature train, the play equipment, the water park elements were all busy but with much younger kids. After a LOT of encouragement they were persuaded to have a go in the water park area but they far preferred the beaches in the area to this park. So, amazing for smaller kids but limited for older.
