From the beginning to the end we had a blast: with the people, the island, the birds, the accommodation and the delicious food. We highly recommend the experience and this company: you have great explanation about wildlife by people who cares and time to explore without any stress as everything is thought about and well organized.…

Such an awesome experience, having been to the main part of the island several times, I was very keen to see the northern end of Kapiti Island and having my son visiting from Canada was the perfect opportunity for a family trip. Hearing the history, experiencing a huge flock of kereru along the boulder bank, and the walk to the western summit then back to the lodge were highlights. The hospitality and food were superb. The trip exceeded expectations, I couldn't recommend the overnight option more...well worth the price.…

What a gem! Very grateful that this place has been preserved for our native flora and fauna so that we can go and visit. Great option for a weekend escape with the family. Walking, eating, chatting, and board games. Walking tracks were well maintained and provided options for a challenging climb or an easy walk. Overnight accommodation was clean, comfortable and warm. Bathroom facilities were basic but clean and adequate. Note that the kitchen in the ensuite accommodation could not be used, however it was only a short stroll to the lodge for tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the day. All meals provided were delicious and plentiful! Definitely worth the trip.…

Everything about our overnight escape was first class from the boat trip over to the welcoming hospitality in the Lodge. Excellent weather made for trouble free walking on the tracks. Trig track could be a challenge in wet slippery conditions, so glad we didn't have to deal with that. Welcoming drinks and nibbles in the Lodge late afternoon, followed by a good wholesome meal and dessert (plus drinks). Our cabin accommodation was warm with very very comfortable beds. Woken by the penguins about 2 a.m., then the pukekos about 5.30, then the expected bird song a bit later. Fabulous experience. Sadly we didn't see any Kiwi on our night spotting walk, but the Kereru, Saddleback, Kaka, Weka, fantail, etc etc during the day made up for that slight disappointment. Would recommend this experience to all.…

Absolutely wonderful. Take the guide's advice and take it slow - you will see much more. Take a red light for the night walk and just relax and enjoy the hospitality. We've had this on our to-do list for ages and weren't disappointed. We will definitely come back again
