We took 3 tours of senior citizens down to Stewart Island and did the Village and Bays tour on each one. We had both Bevan and Nicky as our guides. They were both kind, funny and patient. Lots of things learnt and many laughs had. These staff are both an absolute credit to RealNZ. Thanks so much!

We took 3 tours of senior citizens down to Stewart Island and the RealNZ staff made everyone so welcome and took such good care of us. The guides knowledge of their job and love for where they live, is very clear and their passion shows. Nothing was a problem, the staff were so helpful and patient and had awesome sense of humor. Great picnic lunch and comfy boat ride. Ulva Island was amazing and our guides - Bevan and Nicky for tours 1and 2, then Bevan and Leah for tour 3, we're fantastic and made he experience beyond expectations. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the boat cruise! And our walk on Ulva was even better. Our guide Bridget contacted us to see if we would be willing to shift our tour to a day earlier. She suggested that the weather was better and that we would have a tour with a smaller group. It was definitely worth the move! With only 6 of us on the tour we got an hour and a half exploring the island. Bridget was so knowledgeable finding all the birds well before we heard them. She took her time to talk to every member of the group and find out what they were interested in learning about. I was really impressed by her knowledge of the history of the island and her passion for the area. I thought she was a true bred stewart islander, would never have picked her from Auckland. To top it off she showed us blue mushrooms! Thanks again Sue!

Was very disappointed with booking with this company. I booked the tour for the last night of my trip on stewart island. And this tour got cancelled with out notification- I was told when I arrived to check in for tour it was cancelled- they could not contact me as I had an Australian prefix. This is inaccurate, I used my New Zealand number with no area country attached- they also should have noted it was a different prefix to Australian numbers and tried it just using the “02” prefix. They also had my email address. (Which upon her telling me they had to cancel tour and I asked was it being refunded I received a cancellation email, alas with my correct number on it and no Australian country code attached with it.) I wasn’t offered anything to make up for the fact that tour was cancelled except being told it wasn’t due to the wind but it was the rain and it was the least rainiest night I was there. Seems more likely there was not enough people doing the tour so they did not feel up to it that night. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to the tour, I would advise using another company over them.

We're very sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with us during your Stewart Island holiday. The RealNZ team aims to deliver excellent customer service and care to all our guests, so it's disappointing that you feel you did not receive this. Unfortunately, our Wild Kiwi Encounter Tour is weather dependent and tours can be cancelled on the day. We will be sure to investigate our cancellation procedure and educate our team on phone prefixes to ensure this miscommunication does not happen again in the future. If you would like to speak with someone about your experience and provide any additional comments or feedback, please contact marketing@realnz.com. Your happiness is our priority and we would love the opportunity to make things right.

We didn't have the catamaran portion of the tour. It was quite a thrilling ride out to Ulva in the water taxi as the waves were fairly boisterous. Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything on the island - history, flora and fauna - and the bird fanatics in our party had the opportunity to take plenty of photographs.
