Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped on the way to the ferry to Steward Island for some coffee but ended up in the Art Gallery just next to the cafe. They have all kind of art in all price ranges.
They have also a nice variety of snacks in the cafe. I had the date scone with a delicious almond cappuccino. Highly recommended stop in Bluff if you seek non touristy attractions

So glad we found this little cafe. Lovely hot coffee and the cheese scone was obviously homemade as it was yummy. The sausage roll was very tasty and came with real HP Sauce.
Very pleasant young lady behind the counter. Wandered around the gallery which was interesting. Recommended.

Stopped in on a lark when driving past and wasn't disappointed. A variety of local artists sell their prints and paintings here as well as jewelry and a surprisingly robust collection of used books. Well worth a look! The aurora photos were a standout for me.

I purchased some post cards there as had something on where the traditional post card was helpful. The people running it were very nice and obviously we'll educated. Some very nice painting and photographic work there too.

If travelling to Invercargill you need to visit Bluff as well to get a real feel for all of Southland. The Lighthouse Gallery is central to Bluff.

I enjoyed the uncontrived, bluff hospitality of the Lighthouse; the unobtrusive but friendly and knowledgeable engagement with the charming, and cosmopolitan proprietor.

I bought a simple but evocative painting of the local oyster boats at sea. I am a sailor. the painting grows on me as does Bluff. The end of the world and the beginning of an experience of something being lost to humanity - a connection with nature, those who coexist with it and who take the time to share their good sense with those who need respite from a world gone mad.

This eclectic tic gallery shares their space with the lighthouse cafe, which is a perfect combination. You can get some delicious food while you admire local artwork pick up some unique souvenirs, and get tourist advice on local culture and spots to visit.

This was out doubt the best food we have found in Southland. From the traditional cheese roles to simple bacon and eggs. I had the best whitebait fritter ever and the coffee was good.

I found the gallery attached interesting and added colours to this experience So many people had stopped to get a bite before traveling to Stewart Island. If you want a great place to eat warm welcome and great food this is the place to go when in Southland NZ

Well what can you say when you are greater with warmth. Then provided with well cooked fresh ingredients with a smile. Easley the best food in Buff by a country mile. GreT atmosphere and combined with a art gallery with some impressive art work. A real find at the bottom of New Zealand and a must lace to eat at look at art and sit and enjoy

The suite above the gallery is very comfortable and we have stayed there several times. The owners of the gallery are very friendly and lovely to talk to. We enjoy the coffee and light breakfast without having to go out!
