Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

FYI...... This is now a privately owned property, so no cafe and not aloud access onto the property...

This was an absolutely incredible experience. So good, when we were looking for cafes this was the highest ranked one in Paeroa and had 5 stars. Not so high on this site, but it deserves to be. Delicious scones, and incredibly good strawberry jam. Dark red and heavenly. Garden is beautiful and I like the exclusiveness or the fact that they aren't open all the time so it makes it even more special when it is. The opening times are up on google so it shouldn't be difficult for people to go when it is open. Definitely worth it. We bought both our kids with us and the lady who works there was very accommodating of all our needs and making sure we enjoyed our experience.

We were doing the Hauraki Cycle Trail from Te Aroha to Paeroa and back again.
We saw the sign for “Cafe” so decided that on our way back from Paeroa we would stop there.
It is really.lovely there the gardens are beautiful and the hosts were very friendly and the Devonshire Teas were fantastic. The Jams were amazing - obviously home made as were the scones. It was very quiet so a worthwhile stop either if you are cycling or not.
We will definitely be going there again.

Have cycled past here 6 times - the first time it was open but the timing was wrong for us to stop. We have planned to stop other times we have been cycling past, but it hasn't been open - even though it's during the hours that the sign says it's open. Perfect location to take advantage of cyclists on the Hauraki Trail if only they'd get some consistency going. My children and I are getting disillusioned with constantly missing out on scones!

"Opening Hours: Open 7 days 10am-4pm" We got there at 11:15am on a wonderfully warm, sunny day, and found the place padlocked up.

Had cycled there from Te Aroha on the Hauraki Rail Trail, so had to turn round and cycle all the way back to Te Aroha for a late lunch. Disappointing given the beautiful photos we had seen on the web.

Perhaps anyone planning to visit should phone first to confirm it is open / operational?

Would be happy to try again if we know it is open.

Lovely setting and perfect scones, tea and coffee. The jams we're unbelievable though. Finished the leftover Peach and Passionfruit Jam with some cream ... Too good to let it go to waste.

We called in here on a hot day at the end of summer and what a treat to sit under a shady pergola overlooking the parterre, enjoying a delicious Devonshire tea. We had a choice of jams and chose Damson which was just lovely. Very generous servings of jam and cream and the single pot of tea is enough for two. To cap it off we were able to buy free range eggs to take home at the reasonable price of $5 for 10.

This is a lovely place to stop on route to Te Aroha. Delightful surroundings however the quality of the coffee needs a little work, far too weak...more beans please.

This is a lovely garden centre with helpful staff. We selected a lot of grasses and weed mat for our planter boxes. Garden looks great. We would not hesitate to recommend it.
