About
Furano is the northernmost Prince Snow Resorts. The ski resort consists of 2 zones, Furano and Kitanomine, which have 23 trails in total. You can reach the summit directly by a 101 passenger Furano Ropeway and see a great view of the Daisetsu Mountain Range. There are 2 ski-in ski-out Prince Hotels at the bottom of each area, in which you can enjoy après. Hot springs near the ski area and sightseeing in Furano town are also fun experiences.

Lots of Fun

One of the better ski resorts I’ve been to. A gondola, a ropeway and nine other lifts. Many runs to chose from, most of them are wide and well groomed. Staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful. A hand full of places to eat and many shops for rentals and apparel. Best of all it the view.

Great slopes for all levels of skiers
Feb 2020
For starters, beginners or intermediate skiers will find Kitanomine slopes good for practice to fine tune their turns, rythmn and eventually speed.
At the Furano slopes, there is variety for the advanced intermediate and advance levels This group of skiers will enjoy whole day long without any hesitation.
For F&B, there are numerous small eateries around the ski areas, catering different cuisines for small and cozy groups. Sapporo beers and sake are in abundance and reasonably priced. No reason to travel to Furano town for F&B, unless you want to gallivant the nights in town. Need to take a taxi there, which can be quite costly for a group.

Basic
Feb 2020
It is basic in every way; if youIf you are used to skiing in the Dolomites or the Alps, the Sellaronda and Ortisei are your usual destination, you will probably get a little bored here as the slopes are somewhat average in number and variety. There are vey few places where you can stop for a drink or a quick snack and all considering the resort seems to lack some restyling. Other than that, if you come here for the powder snow you will not be disappointed! are used to sk

Not ready for prime time

Furano has decent potential as a ski mountain. But before I get to the good let me describe the bad. As many have stated, the lines to buy tickets are insane. Waiting for half an hour in a line with only one ticket counter open in high season is just unforgivable for a "resort" mountain. Strike one. Strike two was the fact that when we arrived in the late afternoon we wanted to get some turns in so we bought an evening pass. Great right...no, after one run they closed the lifts down. Surprised we inquired at the ticket counter. We were told the only lift that was open was at the other side of the mountain and we would have to take a bus to get there. Well, we would have to wait for over an hour for that bus or take a taxi. 25 bucks later and another half hour later we were skiing. Why they would not have a bus scheduled when they close the lifts down is just bad organization from management. Very poor. Strike three? The main gondola was never open during the three days of skiing at Furano. There was no weather or storms so it was either because they dont want to spend any more money or the lift was broken. Not sure but either way Furano didnt endear itself to our group. On the plus side we loved the town of Furano. The food was great and it was a very nice provincial town. I would go back for the town and food. Prince Resorts (Furano ski area)??? An emphatic no.

Love love love

This is our fifth trip and will keep coming unless something changes dramatically. It is not an extensive resort but it is just so unique. The people and town too are super inviting and special. A little haven that we love.

Good mountian

I really enjoyed the mountain. Really good off piste skiing here. Fresh tracks can be had after even after a few days without snow. Tree skiing is really good! I am not a fan of trams and you have to ride one to get to the top. It’s also hard to get from one side of the mountain to the other.

Best resort for me so far

Good variety of tracks. Not crowded at all. Good powder for powder hunters. And to the girl who I crashed into on the slope. If you see this,I’m truly sorry...
