Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hautacuperche was an aboriginal warrior from Gomero who in 1488 ended the life of Hernan Peraza, who was the lord who governed the island. In the end, in the so-called _Gomero revolution, he was hit by a crossbow and allowed the rebellion to be quelled more easily.

This statue is a tribute to this aboriginal who is part of the island's history.

The sculpture is about three meters high.

This mighty bronze statue is situated on the seafront in La Puntilla.

It honours Hautacuperche who is deemed to be a hero because in 1488 he led the rebellion of the Cameros.

The statue stands on a basic square concrete plinth with Hautacuperche carved across the front. It depicts Hautacuperche dressed in a loincloth with a knife in one hand and perhaps an opened shellfish in the other, unsure.

The is a small plaque nearby containing information about the statue.

The statue looks even more impressive in the evening as the sun sets behind it.

The statue was unveiled in 2007.
