Not a particularly long hike but you do gain height quickly. I would advise stout shoes as the terrain provides plenty of trip hazards, stubbed toes etc. If reasonably fit the whole trip should take around 3 hours. Well worth the effort as the views...More

We really enjoyed this hike. We walked up from Åndalsnes camping and back down into town. It’s steep, but well marked. I don’t love heights and a couple of bits are a bit scary, but well supported and not dangerous in my opinion. We saw...More

We had about 3 hours for the hike to Rampestreken and it was wonderful, challenging and worth it. If we had had the time, I would have liked to do Romdalseggen except that it apparently turns you into an arrogant hiker who looks down on...More

The idea is fine. A constructed steel ramp, pointing straight out in the air, giving you a nice view over the town Åndalsnes and the fjord. Sherpas have helped to construct and improve the path leading up to the platform. It's accessible. And with accessibility,...More

We parked in Åndalsnes about 5-7 minutes walk from the start of the hike. In the start it is pretty easy as you walk on a built ramp. But after a while it is mostly only UP all the time. Once we were close to...More

1 hour and around 20 minutes walk up to the view, and around 30-40 minutes down again. The view was stunning and totally worth it!

The walk up to Rampestreken is quite hard on your legs as you walk 500 hightmeters straight up; and the down after. However, I do not regret taking the hike. The view was quite beautiful and breathtaking!

This is a challenging hike. Very steep with some drops offs near the top. It would be challenging for every adult with only moderate physical condition like me, but is was especially challenging with a 4,5 year old. I would recommend doing this hike with...More

We did in March so April should be accessible. But it did get really sloppy past the snow line. But treacherous so wear correct shoes, equipment etc.
