A wonderful day out and I'd highly recommend it if you're in the nearby area. The monastery is very imposing and steeped in history.

The monks make their own perfume and chocolate to sell on the island. The free video tells you a lot about their lives there. No access to the monastery itself though.

Incredible building and you have the chance to see the Monks pray in their own church. Visit all of the island to get a feel of the place.

We always visit the island and Monastery when there and find it peaceful; steeped in history and is well worth the boat trip to Caldey. I bought a book while there and read all about the Islands History and the roles the monks have and...More
